I never expected this franchise to go QB round one while Marino was still around.....but after he was gone, we passed on future hall of famer after future of hall of famer, not to mention Super Bowl winning quarterbacks to draft bust cornerbacks, offensive lineman and average runningbacks that could be had a dime a dozen.

Those of you that still don't understand the importance of the QB position...take a deep breath and know we are finally on the right path. I applaud Stephen Ross, Jeff Ireland, Joe Philbin and Mike Sherman.

Wow, the nightmare is over......Three QB's drafted in round one in Dolphin history...the first two are in the hall of fame.

I predict Ryan Tannehill will join Griese and Marino in Canton.
 
Ahhhh see that's what worries me. I'm all for the Tannehill pick, but let's not crown the sob quite yet. This is what a lot of you did with Henne for absolutely no ****ing reason. I'm excited about Tannehill, but I want to see him play in a Dolphins uni before I book a room in Canton for his induction speech. I think it's awesome we finally made an aggressive attempt to solve the QB position, but he still has to earn it.
 
Facts? What facts? Tannehill in Canton is a fact now? I think you confuse fact with opinion. 2nd round project at best taken so high because of the importance of the QB position. Same deal as Christian Ponder, Locker, and Gabbert last year last year. Most likely going to end in disaster. I really don't understand the logic of drafting a QB in the first round just to say you drafted a QB in the first round.
 
I hear you, I just want a title. Whether he's an all time GREAT or not is not important to me. I just want Tannehill to bring Miami a title!
 
In all respect to Tannehill- His Wide Recievers dropped a ton of balls that would of changed games. He cant throw it and catch it too.
 
I am willing to give three kiss his time to develop, but those are some very bold opinions and lofty expectations.

Ryan Tannehill is an amazing athlete and I predict he will thrive at the position. His downside will be reading defenses wich I hope he will improve upon over time. Now we need a right tackle BADLY...
 
i think we have seen a lot of amazing athletes taken top 10 that turned into busts...Now once again sherman knows more about this kid than his own mother, but i think some people wouldnt have been as hppy with the pick if he was taken in the 2nd round and not the 1st...

I agree but he would have never made it to round 2. Most qbs that failed that were drafted this high were dumba$$es or had no touch. This kid is smart, can make every throw, has outstanding pocket presence and has the best foot work of the QBs in this draft. The only thing I dont like is that he pats the ball before throwing, but if you watch his games during his senior season it is not as obvious and he only does it when throwing on the run which is fine because he's trying to pull in the line backers. He also will have a learning curve with reading pro style defense but he is very smart and overcome this quickly.This kid will be fine and we are set for sometime at the position.

God a hated henne from day one, he had no touch, no footwork, no pocket presence and was not that bright, that was a wasted pick round 2 or not. Ryan has everything you look for in qb, Chad had nothing but playing for Michigan..

I love the Tannehill Pick..
 
For everyone complaining about how many starts Tannehill got in college or how many wins he had and who he beat, I ask 1 question. Did Tom Brady set the world on fire at Michigan? Did he win several national championships and Heisman trophies that everyone in the NFL just miraculously forgot about? Bottom line, Tommy Boy did not exactly have a blistering college career. Hell, Dan Marino fell to us in the first round back in 83 because of a sub-par senior season, leading people to question if the guy really had "it". Sometimes you draft Peyton Manning, who for all his brilliance in college, never won a Heisman, a national championship, or beat Florida. And sometimes you draft Tom Brady. It'll be a while before we know who we got.
