This is what this franchise needed more then anything, along with vance joseph a good defensive coordinator who plays man to man defense. Everyone on this team will benefit from it, From RT not having to put the game on his back so much to the our defense front 7 knowing our DB will be ready for ints. This team now looks ready to compete and will be a problem, thanks to the X-Factor

funny how he compares to byron maxell, and i like the fact that his weakness is that he is too physical at times we need that, i mean it will prob give us lots of penalties but trust me, we need that, and things like that can be coach with a great D coordinator like joseph. There's nothing like knowing our CB our locksmith guys with wake and williams and suh, now we have to give rashard jones whatever hes asking for in order to be elite

Pump the brakes a bit

Let's not call him a shutdown corner quite yet. Dude hasn't even stepped onto the practice field

Officially like the pick...but still a lot of work to do til he's a shutdown corner

Dude is a monster. Sean smith but not as soft. Howard has some nasty to him. Love the pick. He was projected in the 1st round in a few mocks.

Wouldn't say shutdown but like the pick.

Always the nicknames and projecting. How's the WildPat now days?

Since being picked in the second round makes you a shutdown corner before you play, it's nice to know he'll pair well with our other shutdown corner Jamar Taylor.

He is a good defensive coach...so what happens if he leaves for a head coaching position?

Rex Ryan, Mike McCoy, Gus Bradley, and Jim Caldwell are sitting in seats so hot they could cook a steak. While it hasn't been as bluntly stated, Jeff Fisher should be on that list as well. Jason Garrett and Bill O'Brien have to be growing nervous and i wouldn't put it past Atlanta to cut ties with Dan Quinn if he suffers another collapse.
But the true threat is Cincinnati. They refused to give Marvin Lewis a multi-year extension and theres been rumors for years about how dissatisfied Mike Brown is growing with the quick playoff exits.

It just takes one team to swipe him. So what happens if a team decides to take the plunge? Rebuild our defensive backfield again? Desperately search for a defensive coordinator who not only is as good as Joseph but runs his scheme?

Thats why your draft shouldn't revolve around scheme. 1 change and everything implodes.

yeah but see Howard has the talent to be great, all he needs is 1 good year with Joseph after that the hell with him if he leaves for a coaching position, by mid season this season Howard should be ready to spread his wings and excel no matter whos the coach, gm, owner, d coordinator, he has the talent already that's the difference between Howard and guys like Jamar Taylor
