Finally, Spoke To A Doer At Directv (do Not Discuss Streams)

If you want to get the Sunday Ticket free, get to the loyalty department. They give tons of free stuff away every year, I haven't paid for the Sunday Ticket in the 5 years I've been a customer. If you get to them they always have promotions and benefits to offer.

Would be great if the NFL would free up their package from DirectTV at some point. The other sports i'm into i can buy a package directly from the source with no B.S., and watch on anything with a screen basically - and they coexist along with standard cable or network TV broadcasts. Can they make as much money as DTV is paying them doing this? I'd venture a guess yes, given it would allow so many of us to actually subscribe that are currently forced into alternative solutions.

Call Directv and threaten to cancel your subscription. They will then transfer you to a retention specialist to process your cancellation. These specialists are empowered to negotiate with you if it will prevent you from cancelling. I usually cite lower prices from competitors, and they will start offering discounts. The NFL ticket is usually the first thing they offer.

My fiend tried doing it this way. Guess what? They let him leave Direct TV. They are not dumb. They know many people are going to call and use "I'm going with cable" deal and are ready to counter the threat. He ended up with no Direct TV.
So my advice is to have a back up plan if you plan to use threats to get something out of them.

There was a silver lining though. He called about a new subscription using his wife's name. Same address and he ended up with free Sunday Ticket.
The only reason I think he was able to get away with it was he first subscribed in CO. I'm certain they new what was up. But hey a new customer is a new customer even if they are not a new customer. Jeeze. I just sounded like Florio!....lol

I just got off the phone after threatening to cancel. They gave me a $60 off monthly promotion for a year with no contract, but they wouldn't come down any lower than $36 a month for the ticket. I have been with them 5+ years so not sure how some people on here are getting it for free. Overall, my monthly bill will be about the same, but I will prob try to get the games on reddit and see how that is for a week or 2 (and potentially cancel the ticket).

What part of no talking about streams confused you people?

holy mother of mothers, I wish I was a complainer more often. I do most stuff online while at work, 4 weeks ago contacted the directv online chat... they told me 25% off I just had to wait for merger and to call back the following week. they gave me run around and said they had no such notice of this. I contacted another online agent and they said they could get me the discount, I would just have to call loyalty number. loyalty said "we saw we promised it to you but we cant honor what they offered" I told them, okay well im going to waste yalls time online and over the phone every day til something happens. I'm at work so im getting paid to harass them. Today the chat tech told me, I'm so sorry about youre troubles, ive done everything I can, call this direct number, but im going to give you a $25 credit, I call the number and this little bubbling 23 year old that I could tell wanted me ;-) gave me sunday ticket for free, and dropped my bill $55 a month for the next year. so today I got the ticket for free ($300), and a combined $685 off my bill 12 x $55 + $25) I went in just wanting them to honor my damn 25% off I was promised. so instead of spending $215 after 75% off, im not spending a penny and really getting the equivalanet of $1000 for free, the 685 plus sunday ticket. party at crumps sunday if you want to come. and it only took about 10-12 days of harassment
