Guys,

All last week you guys indulged me in good football talk. We had our battlelines drawn in the sand over who would win and why, but it was refreshing to see a bunch of diehard fans backing their Dolphins while remaining objective enough to allow a Saints fan in on the conversation.

Yesterday's game was a heavyweight battle. It was a fistfight on turf. I must admit the Dolphins are WAY better than your record shows. You guys kicked us in the gut and forced our very best effort to pull it out in the final minutes.

But what happened just after the game was my lasting impression of Miaimi fans. As Drew Brees is running off the field, Miami fans are taking pictures and high fiving him. Talk about class at it's highest level. Fans who can actually appreciate an opposing player who just pulled off a miraculous comeback victory after having his butt whipped for most of the game. His lip and forehead was bleeding and his arm bruised from the pounding of the Fin Defense. 3 picks, 1 fumble and 5 sacks. You guys were on fire.

Hold your heads high FinFans....your day is coming. Soon. This is exactly where the Saints were in 2007/2008 as we knew we had a good team, but we were trying to put our identity together.

I still think Nick Saban should be punched in the face first thing in the morning, every day, for the rest of his life, for passing on Brees.

Dumbest coaching decision this century.

Good game, Saints are for real.

Thanks man, it was a very hard fought game. I knew the first half was too good to be true and was almost expecting the Saints to come back in the 2nd half. But like any fan I am in disbelief that we lost that game and let all the penalties and the lack of momentum completely get to us.

Needless to say it was a good game and you guys deserve the victory as your team is one of the few 6-0 teams that are actually worthy of the record.

i was surprised by the Saints defense to actually see them a full game and focus on them as i did yesterday... they are fast and they apply pressure and their front 7 is strong at the point of attack... they are a good team

losing Ellis hurt though, whats his status?

Thanks OustRayDaMayor. The compliments go back the other way too. It's been great talking football with most of you, and look forward to doing it again the next time we play.

I know this team is getting close. Our biggest achilles heel, is playing high powered passing offenses. We can stop the run; and run the ball. Our problem has been stopping the pass, I thought it would've been vastly improved from last year's personnel, but that is not the case. Who knows, maybe it's the scheme, I don't know, but I'll save that for another thread :boohoo:.

Anyway, I tip my hat to your Saints and the fans who have visited our board. Your team showed it has the mental fortitude to grind it out when the going gets tough. Congratulations, and good luck the rest of the season.

The Canes brothers (Vilma and Shokley) kicked our *** in the 2nd half. Good luck the rest of the year but PLEASE lose 1 game. Just for old times sake.

Ok, we'll try. But we ain't promising nothing!

Classy post. But also, good point about comparing where the Saints were, and where the Dolphins are. I thought the same thing after the game last night. The Saints didn't come out of nowhere, they built this sort of success. The Dolphins are well on their way to doing the same. The holes on this team are becoming fewer and the team is becoming more balanced, and at some point, it's going to be about bringing in elite talent from FA like the Saints have done to put them at this level.

It's still early to judge just what kind of success the Saints will have over the long-term; are they going to maintain this success like the Steelers, Colts, or Giants? But so far I've really liked what they've done, and I've been paying a lot of attention because I've had Brees in a keeper fantasy football league for the past 3 years, haha (had to sit him yesterday though). Good luck the rest of the way.

Like he cares. He somehow left this franchise in a worse position then he found it(really tough to do), then slithered away leaving others to clean up his mess. Way to conference call your assistant coaches on your way out, you ****ing Dbag.
