Getty Images Towards the end of the regular season, Titans cornerback Cortland Finnegan thought his time with the team may be coming to an end. The recent changes to the Titans front office hasn’t changed his mind.
“I don’t know that a lot will change. Mike Reinfeldt will still be on top of everything,” Finnegan told Jim Wyatt of the Tennessean.
Reinfeldt has moved from General Manager to team president. Finnegan sounds upset and impatient because the Titans have made no effort to re-sign him since the season ended. But we’d argue that doesn’t mean much.
With free agency still almost two months away, we’re not yet at the point teams seriously start their plans for 2012. Plus a lack of interest from Tennessee might not be so bad for Finnegan. As one of the more complete cornerbacks in the league, he’d do extremely well on the free agent market.
“We haven’t even gotten to that point yet. I’m just trying to get my feet wet right now,” new General Manager Ruston Webster said.
Finnegan is already preparing for next season, seemingly convinced he’ll be on another team. We wouldn’t be sure.
Even if a long-term deal can’t be worked out, we’d expect the Titans to use the franchise tag on one of their best players coming off a strong season. It would make no sense to just let Finnegan walk away.

He's probably already shopping for a place to live in St. Louis.

Doubt it'll happen. If it did, wow! Miami would have some aggressive cornerbacks with him and Davis

No thanks. If we spend money on our secondary, it needs to be one of the safety positions. And Finnegan is a guy with a bad attitude.

he will probably go to the rams but we no doubt need another CB, sean smith sucks, yes I said it, sean smith sucks

I think safety is more of an issue but Finnegan would be a great addition too.

Finnigan and Fisher will be reunited under the StLouis arch.
