I would say Vernon Carey and Long have a shot but it will be hard. I dont think Porter is consistent enough and that NE game really skews his stats.
Ronnie Brown has a chance esp since all the best backs seem to be in the NFC. If the Pro Bowl was right now Im sure LT and LJ get the first two spots on name alone and the next spot would be between Chris Johnson, Steve Slaton and Ronnie Brown.

I personally think Will Allen ,Yermiah Bell and CHanning Crowder have decent shots also.

he's gotten consistent pressure all year so far. He's recorded a sack (or at least a half) in 4 of our 5 games.

IMO, he's got the name recognition and early production necessary to get in.

If he keeps at this pace I agree but not sure if the NE game is anomaly. I think in the end some better players will overtake him. Im happy with what Poerter has done so far though.

Pending any injuries, I think Ronnie and Porter go. And whoever said Porter has not been consistent this year, what games have you been watching? : /

He was great in the NE game and has been up and down in others. His sacks always hide he does not usually make enough tackles.

I don't agree with Ronnie or Chad, both players have the benefit of a play that teams have not figured out yet. In the base offense neither player impresses me. Now I know the players still have to make plays and Chad and Ronnie have, but probowlers have to be consistent. IMO, neither Ronnie or Chad have been consistent. It's either feast or famine.

Porter will need to pick up his solo tackles and maintain his sack pace to have any chance.

Same for Brown, he will have to pick up his yard totals and maintain his TD pace.

If Porter maintains his sack pace, he's a Pro Bowler....I don't care if he doesn't record a single other tackle other than his sacks. Have you ever seen a player with 20+ sacks NOT make the Pro Bowl? Even if he doesn't keep the current pace, maybe peels back to 1 per game, that's 17.5. Solo takcles won't matter at all.

As for Brown, he probably makes it if he maintains current yardage and TD pace....although I expect his yardage to go up as the coaches realize they have to give him the ball more.

Way too early to tell who will make the Pro-bowl.

If Ronnie stays healthy he may be our best shot.

So far, three players stick out as potential pro bowlers.

Joey Porter - He is on pace for 61 tackles and 21 sacks. Lets face it though, 21 sacks is a very long shot. 15 sacks though? I think that is very much a possibility. For those worrying about his tackle total, he had 53 tackles in 04' and 56 tackles in 05', both Pro Bowl seasons. I don't think tackles will really matter though if he has 15+ sacks. If he can continue to play at the high level he has through 5 games, he is a lock for the Pro Bowl.

Ronnie Brown - He is on pace for 1,075 yards rushing and 22 touchdowns. Throw in that he is also on pace for 342 yards receiving. If he reaches those stats, he makes the Pro Bowl hands down. However, like Porter, I doubt that he puts up those amazing numbers. I think by the end of the season(if he stays healthy), he will put up over 1,100 yards rushing and have around 16 rushing touchdowns. Another big factor is that he is averaging 4.7 yards per carry. A key for Pro Bowl voting is, does the player make an significant impact on your team. Ronnie has carried the offense so far, so yes, he does make a big impact. Some may say that 1,100 yards rushing is not enough for a running back, HOWEVER, his touchdown total and impact in the offense will push him through. Marion Barber made the Pro Bowl last year and failed to rush for over 1,000 yards.

Chad Pennington - Thats right, I said it. CHAD PENNINGTON. He isn't a super star QB who can torch you for 6 touchdowns in one game, but he is a consistent QB who rarely makes a critical mistake. He is on pace for 3,523 yards passing, 16 touchdowns and only 6 interceptions. He is also completing 69% of his passing and has a QB rating of 98.9. Now, I wouldn't consider him a guy that should be a "lock" but he is someone I think should get consideration(if he keeps performing at the same level all year and remains healthy) for like the 3rd QB spot on the roster, or at the very least be a first alternate if an injury occurs to one of the three who do make it.

Keep an eye on those three, as I believe they have the BEST shot as of this point in the season.

Some other guys who could mentioned more as the season goes on:

Anthony Fasano
Jake Long
Vernon Carey
Channing Crowder
Will Allen

i highly expect:
Ronnie Brown, Yeremiah Bell, Vernon Carey, Jake Long

others possible:
Channing Crowder, Porter, Ike Ndukwe, Chad Pennington

a dolphins QB in the Pro Bowl is what nobody would have expected to see in years!
