Fins, Browns almost swapped Brown, Edwards

this was posted yesterday and someone posted this its just espn trying to give the game more spice.

(On if the Ronnie Brown trade rumors can be put to bed) - "We can put them to bed. It's funny, before the draft, you have a lot of people calling you, a lot of people calling you, and somehow those things take on a life of their own. I'll give you an example: someone calls me and says 'any players available by trade?,' and I say 'yeah, they are all available for a price." Someone might have said 'does that include Ronnie?,' and I said 'like I said, they are all available.' I don't know if someone took that and ran with it, but we are not looking to trade Ronnie Brown - you can write that."

Cleveland: Can we have Ronnie Brown, we'll give you Braylon Edwards.
Dolphins: LOL

Rumor circulates days later - "DOLPHINS ALMOST TRADE BROWN FOR EDWARDS".

Im sure the dolphins answer was "Sure we will do that, along with your first, second, third and two more players of value"

Yea. Good thing we didnt make that trade.

Oh.

Wait.

DOH!

LOL. How many wins would we have today without Ronnie this year?

How many wins have the Jets had since they got Edwards?

I'm a huge WVU fan, but you disappointed me.

Youre right. Thats not fair for me to say that now. There is no way to predict someone will get injured.

Its not as if Ronnie Brown gets injured pretty much every season. Oh. Wait. DOH!!!

Well its not like he plays a position that is the most easily replaceable in the league and is loaded with a nice talent pool. Oh. Wait. DOH!

Its not like the draft is loaded with guys every year and you can just draft a fresh guy in late rounds every year and keep the RB position stocked with young talent at a very reasonable hit on your payroll. Oh. Wait. DOH!!!!

Well come on. Its not like we had a guy on our roster at RB who was already a better player than Ronnie. Oh. Wait. DOH!!!

Well we were solid at WR anyway. So we didnt need a playmaker at that spot. Oh. Wait. DOH!!!!

Well there are tons of solid receivers to choose from. Im sure we can pull one out of the draft and not have to worry he wont pan out. Whats that? Ted Ginn was the 9th overall pick. Oh. Wait. DOH!!!

Well hell. Im sure someone will just give us an elite WR. Lets not get ridiculous. It wouldve been ****ing stupid to trade our savior Ronnie Brown, the greatest RB of all time for Braylon Edwards. Just ****ing dumb. I dont care how much sense I didnt make above. It just wouldve been stupid. Ok. I have a Ronnie Brown jersey. And Ive sweated his nuts since we drafted him #2 overall. I decided that day to worship him and I wont stop now. I dont care how bad we need a receiver and how easily the position is to replace in the offseason. Nor do I care he is typically only good for half the games we play either. ITS RONNIE BROWN. He is my god damned hero and youre not trading him no matter what. I dont care how much better our offense wouldve been.

 Ronnie homers.

Id guess at least 4. If you give us Edwards in return its a good chance we have a couple more.

I think 1 and thats only because they played the Raiders. Pretty sad. But, do you honestly think its because Edwards didnt play well? I dont think he is costing them games. I think their QB is not very good yet, their coach is inexperienced, and their defense is way overrated. Plus they played us twice.

I'm a huge WVU fan, but you disappointed me

I didnt know I owed you anything.

i dont really see your beef with ronnie brown but to each his own ricky willams is a beast but will be gone soon if you are happy with cobbs hillard and sheets then more power to you but ronnie is my favorite dolphins player and is a huge reason we win

Sounds like whatever it is he took it pretty hard.

 Ronnie homers.

I understand that you have an irrational hatred towards Ronnie Brown, but let's be slightly rational here :err: This is Braylon Edwards we're talking about. Ronnie Brown is a better receiver than Edwards is.

He is a player fan first than he is a Dolphins' fan. There's not a superhuman in the NFL, everyone has had their share of injuries, including Ricky Williams who missed quite a bit of games his first two seasons because of injuries, and even had two injuries in his CFL experience with the Toronto Argonauts on his arm and achilles tendon.

Only sports fans would belittle someone because of injuries instead of hoping for the best out of them. These football players are people just like the rest of us. Ronnie Brown has put a whole lot on the line and won this team many games, despite not giving him any help the past few years. Even if we don't re-sign him, I sure hope he continues to have a successful career, he is a huge reason why this team is respectable again.

I wouldn't trade Ronnie Brown for all the Browns:lol:

If the Dolphins were THAT interested in Braylon Edwards (interested enough that they would trade the best player on a team that was built to be a power-running team), then I get the feeling they would have went a little harder at the trade deadline and outbid the Jets' 3rd, 5th, and Chansi Stuckey offer.

So, that's what a team traded Braylon Edwards for...would you honestly do that deal for Ronnie Brown? If not, then Ronnie for Braylon, straight-up, does not = value.

Remember, that's basically Patrick Turner, John Nalbone, Chansi Stuckey, and Jason Trusnik.

So...Inactive 85% of the time. Cut. Doesn't start for the Cleveland Browns. Special teams player.

A special teamer for the best player on the team, man, where can I sign up??? Plus, we already have a first-round DB to be our special teams ACE:oops:
