Fins defense eye test/ timing

Something I have noticed about our D is very troubling. I think overall they are a good unit, great corner play nack for causing turnovers etc. I am going to use a baseball analogy. When I was playing baseball in college our coach used to always say the following after we had a good offensive inning. "We have to put up a zero here" Momentum in college baseball is huge, and there is nothing worse than scoring 4 and giving up 3 right after. It seems every single the Fins offense puts a nice drive together ending up in 7 points, the defense gives up a TD! That is why we cant put teams away, and we have trouble holding leads IMO

I tend to agree. I don't know how many times our D seems to be playing very well, our offense scores and gives us a lead, and then our D seems to give up points on the very next possession. It get's pretty frustrating. But for me....the most frustrating part is how well we can play on 1st and 2nd down and get the opposition in 3rd and long only to give up the 1st down. I'm not a stats guru but I would bet we give up more 1st downs on 3rd and 8+ than any team in the league. I'm probably wrong on that, but it sure feels like it at times.
