Everybody's about to jump ship, screaming that the team is making absolutely no progress and that Saban's no good either.

But think about it. If we had Dan Marino the year before his last year, in 1998, as the QB of this team - does anyone doubt we'd have a winning record at this time? A good QB makes a world of difference and covers up MAJOR problems.

We just need a real QB, that's all. And you can count on Mueller to get the job done in that department. He has a proven track record.

We need a bigtime WR. We need a QB. We need a younger defense. We need to cut some salary. I am actually starting to think about trading Madison or cutting him outright at some point. We need some more youth at LB. We need DB's out the wazoo.

Hopefully, we get someone better than Gus to be caretaker next year for some rookie QB who hopefully has all the tools to be a good QB in this league. Otherwise - next year may be more of the same but with improvement in the personnel department, because you know Saban and Mueller will bring in at least a dozen or more new guys.

I agree we need help everywhere, but ESPECIALLY at QB. I really think we'd be 5-5 or 6-4 right now with just a good, decent QB - not a worldbeater. And that's with all the problems we have on the team.

u can blame gus all u want, at least he is one other player on this team who is doing something semi-productive. blame the defense, they cant hold anyone out of the endzone, if defense would have held, we would be 6-4

We do need more LBs, and I would hope to draft one in the second round and then another one later with one of our fifth round picks, I like A.J. Hawk, Chad Greenway, Manny Lawson, Abdul Hodge, Spencer Havner . All five of these guys are studs, and Manny Lawson can play OLB and DE.

DB should not be a major concern next season. We have Will Poole and Shirdonya Mitchell coming back next year. We will be fine at DB. There will be some growing pains, but Travis Daniels, Will Poole, and Shirdonya Mitchell are the future for our secondary.

I also think its time to groom another speed rusher while we still have Jason Taylor around to show him the ropes.

I'm not saying our 3-7 record is Gus' fault. Gus is Gus. He is what he is. But with a DECENT quarterback, we'd be at least .500. And that's a fact regardless of the other problems on the team.

Look at the Ravens. No QB there either and that team has more talent than we do. And they suck.

So the Ravens and Jets have no QB just like us - and is everyone thinking that WE will be in worse shape than those franchises after 2-3 offseasons of Mueller and Saban accumulating talent here?

I rest my case.

Give Saban a chance with a REAL quarterback. Then if he sucks, he sucks and we can all throw the bum under the bus. But I think Saban has what it takes. All he needs is a real QB.
