Honestly, I think you are being harsh, and I think it's fair that people are still upset about the Landry move.

But I also don't disagree with you. Everyone who wants to have an informed opinion about these players really should just watch more football. Watching football kicks ***.

Yup, coverage wise Peters is one of the best out there. Only knock is his tackling and keeping his cool at times

Kinda doubt TB will carve Gase up too bad, try though he might.

Most of the **** signings are on him.

As far as the Albert contract vs Stills, Kenny took less money to stay in Miami than he could have gotten in FA. So it isn’t that Alberts contract is really bad, it’s more that Stills contract is (incredibly, for Miami) pretty good.

According to Football Outsiders metrics he had a good year in 2017, ranking 8th in dvoa which is one spot behind his teammate Hill, and was 21st in DYAR.

What was Landry’s? I know according to Cian Fahey he was one of the most inefficient WRs in the NFL.

Current cap should be around 16 million factoring in Wilson and Quinn's contract and Thomas Timmons Suh cuts

Funny you should mention that as I was just thinking about this and MikeyT's resume.

Wilson signing for $8M = OOPS, I made a huge mistake on Carroo
Suh fired = OOPS, That contract I gave him was stupid
Quinn signing = OOPS, Wow, I gave Branch almost as much money as Quinn is making....and perhaps Harris is not quite ready for prime time.

Too bad he will never admit his mistakes. He will just try and make Gase pay for it. We all know the growing list of failed FA's so I will not list them again.

I'm pretty sure he's a solid player, but I'm pretty sure it was an overpay as well, because all players signed at this stage in free agency are. And we always make moves at this stage in free agency.

Landry's efficiency numbers are crap, they even wrote articles about him in FO. But, again, it's all about how he was misused. Ironically, that misuse inflated his numbers and led to his insane contract demands.

Not on Parker. Not too much on Grant as they can be on the field together. Some on Carroo but mostly on the fact that none of the three are truly slot guys. Stills can be very effective in the slot but you want to move him around.

Great to see they attacked the one position we have really, really neglected over the past four years.

Don’t link a Bill Barnwell article ever again. That dude is a hack and doesn’t understand anything about the sport he reports on.

The dude flat out said take out the screens, when Wilson was primarily a screen WR for them. How does that make any sense. “If you take out all his big plays, then he looks bad”

    LMAO.

Well to be fair, it can be useful to examine an offense or player's productions when you take out those plays. I did that a while back when talking about how bad the Dolphins were at running screens and how our offensive efficiency jumped considerably when we didn't throw them.

Yes, I've seen analysis of WR screens league-wide and it's a play that just isn't productive. If they were Wilson's best plays, then he got lucky or it was related to the talent around him giving him one-on-one opportunities.

Kansas City has been EXCELLENT at running screen passes under Andy Reid.

    Jarvis Landry

    WEAKNESSES

Has a fairly lean frame -- could stand to bulk up and get stronger in order to combat the jam. Lacks elite explosiveness and top-end speed -- does not have an extra gear to take the top off. Average line release, acceleration and suddenness. Could struggle to separate vs. quick-twitch cornerbacks. Large percentage of catches are contested. Lacks ideal height and is not a great leaper. Started just 12 career games.

    Interestingly true

No that makes sense, but you don’t work for ESPN parading around as a NFL guy.

Reid calls screens when they make sense and he used Wilson and Hill and both were good at it.

    He is a Dolphin now so I will support and I don’t want to beat a dead horse but I thought this was funny from Walter Football;

“Wow, this sure is a lot of money for a player who has never done anything. This was close to a Millen grade, but there will be worse contracts signed this week, I promise you.”

He hates the signing but I thought that line about worse contracts was funny.

    Walter football.

Read his opinion on Trey Burton then look up his stats. Then read his opinion on Albert Wilson and the roll your head back in laughter.

I've watched plenty of Chiefs games. I can't recall him, and that's a problem.

I don't mind bringing in depth at receiver, but think its ridiculous to pay depth 8 million a year.

    I doubt it w
ill be 8 million a year - there are incentives in the contract, probably much less cap number, probably more like $5m

I love how people bash the signing right after asking who he is. I rip this awful front office a lot, but come on now. Some of you have never even seen the guy play.

Wait until the season starts. You won't miss Landry as much as you thought you would. He's essentially the same player in the slot but faster and more productive. Maybe the difference between the two is polish but not much else.

We won't have to force him the ball 100+ times either. He can catch 45-60 balls and be a part of a more versatile group.

Imagine if we had done this instead!

"Ravens agreed to terms with WR Ryan Grant, formerly of the Redskins, on a four-year, $29 million contract.

The deal contains $14.5 million guaranteed, including a $10 million signing bonus. This is a real head-scratcher and reeks of desperation from GM Ozzie Newsome, who promised to overhaul the receiving corps, only to whiff on every other big name available. Grant, entering his age-28 year, came into 2017 with 39 career catches for 412 yards and two scores before "breaking out" for a 45-573-4 line last season. He's the new default No. 1 receiver in Baltimore."

reid is the most overrated coach in possibly the entire history of sports. He ALWAYS keeps the WRONG QB and has never been close to a title. He is letting KC do a fire sale so they can afford the waaayyyy bank to lock up Kelce and Hill longterm.

I'm not complaining about the high potential of talent he might hold but 8 million now Amendola 8 million who only made 6mil in 3 years with the Pats. It is disturbing. BTW I personally don't think Reid is overated.

I must admit, I'm still saying Albert Who, the amount of money they are paying for him he had better be at least half as good as what Landry was, his career stats hardly back that hope up however.

And then they give the appearance of younger cheaper system chemistry etc and sign Amendola....old, injury prone as hell. I do not understand.
