Fins likely to select Riley Rieff in 1st round

Investing so much of the salary cap on the oline is not necessary.
We can fill the oline holes in free agency and with the guys we have returning from injury.
I think we will be looking for oline depth in the middle rounds.
With the first pick, I would go WR Blackmon(to play opposite BM), DB Clarborne(replace SS in the 4/3 scheme), or RB Richardson(upgrade over DT to alternate with Bush)...playmakers. Whichever is available.

No chance they take Richardson. Ireland would be admitting the Daniel Thomas pick was a waste, and they have Bush, too. That would be a silly waste of resources, even if I really like Richardson.

Not picking Richardson just because of the other two is a bigger mistake. That guy is at least as good as any running back coming out of college in the last 10 years. He is built for the NFL....it almost wasn't fair to the teams Alabama played the last couple years.

Blackmon and Claiborne will be gone by the time we pick at #8. Long gone. No one picks RBs in the top 10 anymore and if they do then they are stupid.

All of the stars have alligned

- Philbin is a friend of Ferentz and coached at Iowa
- Fins need a RT
- Philbin is also an offensive line coach

Points 1 and 3 don't matter at all, but the fact we really need a RT in a bad way could certainly cause them to select Reiff. I wouldn't mind this pick at all as long as they also draft a QB in round 2 such as Tannehill, Weeden, Wilson, etc.

GO PHINS~!

Lets continue to ignore skill position players and speed.... Lineman lead you to THREE straight losing seasons when u have no QB or explosive playmakers on either side of the ball.

pass rusher

I think the only two positions that don't have a lot of really good players available this free agency are OL and QB. So its more than likely the OP is right and we do go OL if we can't get our guy at QB sadly.

I would think there will be a few directions we could go at #8/9. At this point, I can't imagine Reiff being so much more the BPA that we will take him. But if he is the clear cut BPA, I think you should pull the trigger.
