How would you have rather ended the season? The way we did or the way the Chiefs did?

The Chiefs had a great season, made the playoffs, and have tremendous upside for next season. However, at the end of the day, they are looking towards the off-season just like we are, but now select later in the draft.

The way we ended the season, it is no doubt, we would have been defeated in the 1st round, if we had made the playoffs… It's clear we don't deserve to be in the playoffs even if we snuck in somehow. Can you imagine how Chief fans feel right now? I'm feeling for their fan base the way their season ended.

The ultimate goal is to improve each season, make the playoffs, to have a chance to win a super bowl but to go out like that…. I rather not. It's probably the way we felt after getting blown out by the Jags in Jimmys last season. If we had Andy Reid as a coach, had their exact season, this board would be in a drunken rage about the outcome. I could imagine many reminding us that Reid cannot win the big game. This is the nature of sports, especially the NFL.

I don't feel as bad anymore because I know there are fans out there feeling a lot worse then we are right now… I have read countless posts and threads about fans giving up and not having the ability to root for a franchise that keeps letting them down year after year. We are not the only team that experiences misery. We have a storied franchise, that includes two super bowls, Don Shula, Dan Marino, and the only undefeated season in NFL history. I'll take the Miami Dolphins 10/10 times, every day of the week and twice on Sundays.

Here's to a brighter future as Dolphin fans!

Our defense wouldve never surrendered 45 points.

I believe the Colts dropped a whopping 20 on us in that building. With Wayne.

And there is no question I would take losing in the playoffs to losing the last two games to the BILLS AND THE JESTS, while scoring 7 points total when we just needed to win one of the games.

I dont think you can choose a worse way to end our season than the way it actually ended.

I would rather end the season in the playoffs with a game my team showed up in. Draft position means nothing with Ireland at helm.
KC is a more talented team overall than we are. They lost to a good team on road in playoffs while we ended season losing to a bad Jets team at home.
There is no solace in any of that.We haven't made the playoffs in half a decade. The chiefs fans are bummed but they truly feel hey we can get them next year unlike our fans who have no clue what Ross is going to do and don't expect anything more than another mediocre year because we are no closer to Pats and the Jets and Bills are at our level.

Well the jets could have shut us out that would have been worse!

The immediate sting would be brutal, but I think 48 hours would allow you to sit back and be pretty pumped that we were 11-5 and put up 44 points on offense in a playoff game. Things would be looking up.

Losing to the Bills and Jets and scoring 7 points total? I am still not over that.

edited my original post but not in a way that would change my narrative.

I argue that, though it is great to make the playoffs each and every year, it isn't worth it if we don't belong. Going into the game, I believe everyone would have considered the Chiefs defense better than ours. Andrew Luck would have done that to anybody today… I read a bunch of posts praising Luck on this board for his performance today. There is no doubt he earned it today. It would be an absolute pleasure to see Tannehill bring us back in that fashion some day. I still have faith in the kid but you can't deny he has some more developing to do before that happens.

Go Fins!

I think the meltdown by KC is worse than the fins collapse. They had that game won. We just failed to win two games we should have. We were much further away from a round 1 game and they were much closer to a round 2.

So you think Chiefs fans have the sadz because they've got a new coach who has turned the franchise around? Last year, the Chiefs had a much worse record than we did; this year they have a much better record. We'd be lucky to be so sad about our team.

JTC- great point. I've been doing some reading from KC reaction to game and there are some knee-jerking like so many do around here. I've read some claiming that that is why Reid will never get KC to the big game or win the big game. How do you believe Fin fans would have reacted to losing the way KC lost today? Could you imagine? Armageddon! Worse than the reaction around here after losing to Bills and Jets.

Chiefs are a VERY GOOD football team when healthy.

We're average at 8-8.

I'll also take the playoffs every day, any time, any way over any kind of positive regular season play.

I'm sure there's a diversity of opinion there as there is here. A group of fans as big as the number of posters here aren't going to be monolithic in their opinions.
