So I’ve been seeing through numerous threads (particularly the 49ers ones) that the Dolphins rush defense is bad or below average. All things considered, it ranks middle of the pack, because they have been awful in containing mobile QBs. However, when it comes to their rush defense against running backs, it has been super stout. The Dolphins have not given up a 100 yard rusher this year. Below I have listed out the main running backs faced and how they fared. I also have highlighted if the YPC was inflated due to long runs:

Pats: Damien Harris: 9 for 48 (5.3ypc).
Rhamondre Stevenson: 8 for 25 (3.1ypc)

Ravens: Justice Hill: 3 for 16 (5.3 ypc)
Kenyan Drake 6 for 8 (1.3 ypc)

Bills: Devin Singletary: 9 for 13 (1.4ypc)
Zack Moss: 4 for 46 (11.5ypc). Broke that huge run down the sideline

Bengals: Joe Mixon 24 for 61 (2.5 ypc)
Samaje Perine: 1 for 0 (0ypc)

Jets: Breece Hall: 18 for 97 (5.4ypc)
Michael Carter: 10 for 21 (2.1ypc)

Vikings: Dalvin Cook: 13 for 77 (5.9ypc) had the 50 yard house call in the 4th qtr
Alexander Mattison: 1 for 3 (3ypc)

Steelers: Najee Harris: 17 for 65 (3.7ypc)
Jaylen Warren: 2 for 7 (3.5ypc)

Lions: Jamaal Williams: 10 for 53 (5.3ypc)
D’Andre Swift: 5 for 6 (1.2 ypc)

Bears David Montgomery: 14 for 36 (2.6ypc)
Khalil Herbert: 7 for 23 (3.3ypc)

Browns: Nick Chubb: 11 for 63 (5.7 ypc)
All of his yardage came on two runs

Kareem Hunt: 6 for 9 (1.5ypc)

Texans: Dameon Pierce: 5 for 8 (1.6ypc)
Dare Ogubawale: 4 for 14 (3.5 ypc)

Now if only they could figure out how to stop mobile QBs!
Definitely have to get better. Hopefully Tindall can be that spy linebacker sooner than later. They gave him a shot against the Bears. His first rep was decent and then it went all downhill from there lol.

Feel free to fact check my math, because I did it in my head, but when I add these totals up, the Dolphins have given up to running backs: 187 carries for 663 yards. Equaling 2.83 yards per carry.
I’ve got that equaling 3.5454 yards per carry

Yeah you’re right. Simple math should’ve shown me that lol. I used an online calculator for that portion. The part I thought I might be wrong on was the adding lol. I’ll edit. Edit: won’t let me edit 😂

If by some crazy chance we got to the Super Bowl and had to face Jalen Hurts I’m gonna be sweating bullets for two weeks. I don’t know what it is with this team and mobile QBs. Doesn’t matter the regime or year or personal. I remember far back as Vicks debut year Taylor and Thomas chasing him all over the field.

well if miami wants to get to the superbowl there's a good chance they;d face mahomes in afc championship game probably. He's not lamar or hurts or kylar fast, but he's pretty dangerous as a scrambler too. So miami will have to figure how to handle it if trying to get to the superbowl. They might not play ravens again if it's not a wildcard game and miami plays another team and ravens lose first round. But ultimately, miami's coming across either bills with josh allen probably or mahomes or both on way to to superbowl

Mobile QB’s and TE’s are it’s kryptonite. If we didn’t have all those injuries on the back end this would have been a top 10 defence. Really need to upgrade the LB’s for next season and get healthy in the secondary.

A lot has been said about the Eagles schedule and I agree, it’s the softest one I’ve ever see. But let’s be realistic, Hurts is making all the right moves. He’s got the best OLine in the NFL, good running game and very very good WRs and a TE. He makes the throws when need be and he knows when and how to run. Their D is also very good. Beating them would be a very tall order. They do scare me

Secondary may not just have to get healthy but rebuilt.

Howard will turn 30 before next season and 2 CBs retuning form Achilles that is never a guaranteed rehab.

Thankfully KK has emerged.

Glad to see you will be "getting the lead out".
That stuff is poisonous and can deteriorate a person's ability to reason. - LOL
