Still so confused about David Long. He was so good in his first year. We all thought Grier really knocked it out of the park on that signing. Then cut a few games into last year, and didn’t do anything with his next team(s) and so it didn’t seem like just a scheme fit thing.
Meh, he was kinda the Bucs worst starting LB.... and the bucs defense was not good but I don't think it's was his fault, the secondary was banged up and kinda awful and the Bucs had no edge pressure last year.
Hes not bad tho, but "meh" is pretty good description
These grades are lower than I expected when watching him.
Kinda a zero sum add with this swap.

He's solid as a run defender but stiff and slow in coverage.
Well.............if you believe in PFF type ****, this is a slight upgrade. We'll see what the ole' eyeball test says in 2025.
I live in Tampa Bay Area and watch a lot of Bucs games. He was a terror on run defense. Was such an upgrade to Devin White for them there. But bad in coverage.
