I know some of us were hoping to possibly get the opportunity to buy some of the old seats from the stadium. Well we will now have a chance. The Fins will be auctioning off seatbacks for charity with Shula, Griese, and Marino autographs on them.

edit:

In Barry Jackson's latest article he states that any of the seats that are left over after the autction will be thrown away. I wonder who the demolition company is and if any of the dumpster containers are outside the stadium. Any So Fla Fins fans want to go dumpster diving for a brother up north?

Is it supposed to take you to a second screen once you register?

I'd happily pay the fan who did and sent me one!

I Am sadly(to my wifes opinion) still holding on to my seat from the orange bowl that were given out the last event they held there.

So they only have one seat up for auction as of now? Seems like a slow process to do it one at a time. I guess they will get more money doing it that way. I contacted Garfinkel/Dolphins awhile back about acquiring a seat or back to one but got no reply. I don't want an autographed one, I just want a seat back , something simple, I could care less if it's beat to hell either. The handling of the seats has been an odd one for the Dolphins, lots of fans want them yet they destroyed most of them, now they are selling only autographed ones in a very limited supply but according to Barry Jackson they are going to trash them if they don't sell. Well how the hell do you buy them? Very odd. The Orange Bowl had a nice website store up after the demolition where you could purchase different items such as light fixtures, seats, seatbacks, benches, bricks, etc. . Just pick what you wanted and pay. Not sure why the Dolphins are being stubborn this time around.

Well the one seat they do have up for auction has one bid for $2500.

There goes my dream of owning one.

Yes. Strange.

I think they're going to do this in stages with this signed seat the first. I would bet the Dolphins will auction off more, unsigned, as time goes by. Remember, the money is going to the Dolphins Foundation, not Ross or the team itself. So it's all for charity.
