Hey I am new to posting so don't get all mad at me if i am posting in the wrong area or something. But I need a little back up as to why the Fins will do better this season than the G-men (NY Giants). I have a bet with my boss that Miami will have a better record than the Giants and Ronnie Brown will have 1500 yds or more this season. Any info that you can provide to better prove my point will be greatly appreciated.

for one the Giants are in a tougher divison

The giants are a really good team again this year and are being overlooked a lot due to TO. I wouldnt be surprised to see NY win their division though.
The only thing I can see argueing about Miami and NY is that Miami has an easier division.

I made a bet last year with my boss about Miami having an over/under of 6 wins. I took the over purely based on Nick Saban alone. I'd take the Dolphins purely on two things. One, mentioned previously aboved, Redskins, Cowboys, Eagles...very, very tough division. Two, what I previously stated, trust in Saban.

The G-Men are the only other team i root for week in and week out. They are a playoff quality team IMO but their division will be a dogfight. Just considering that 2 of our divisional opponents arent expected to do very well while every team in NFCeast is locked n loaded is enough to expect a better record from us i think.

Eli Manning has not shown that he is a quality NFL QB. He just hasn't...yet. He may become a great QB this year, but he is still a question mark. Also, it this the year the wheels fall off Tiki?

i think Eli HAS shown that he WILL be a HIGH quality qb. It's reasonable to think Tiki is getting up there in age, but don't expect him to hit a wall like my favorite Martin did last year. Still we have question marks with our starting QB/HB.

I sure hope the "1500 yards" are combined

They are in a tough division......the toughest in the NFL, and the start of their schedule is brutal:

Sep 10 Indianapolis 8:15pm
Sep 17 @Philadelphia 1:00pm
Sep 24 @Seattle 4:15pm
Week 4 BYE
Oct 8 Washington 1:00pm
Oct 15 @Atlanta 1:00pm
Oct 23 @Dallas 8:30pm
Oct 29 Tampa Bay 1:00pm

IMO, they will be hard pressed to win ANY of their first 3 games, and it would be a small success to split their next 4. So to me, they could easily be looking at a 2-5 start..........and then the wheels could fall off.

Other questions:

- Is Eli a legit NFL star? I think he's already good.....but is he clutch?
- Is Tiki going to fall off? Look what happened to Curtis Martin a year after he led the league in rushing.....NFL backs hit the wall FAST, and Tiki isn't young anymore.
- Is Arrington a Pro Bowler or the part-time player he was the last 2 years in Washington?
- Is their secondary any better? Madison can still cover, but won't play the run. Are RW McQuarters and Will Demps really upgrades. Both "Wills" are now gone.
- Who's gonna play DT? It's William Joseph and then no one.
- Does Amani Toomer have anything left?
- Is Plaxico gonna be the head case he was when he left Pitts.....it already appeared so after the playoff loss?
- Can Shockey keep it together if they get off to a bad start, as the schedule suggests they might?
- Is Strahan's "alternative lifestyle" going to alienate teammates?

The Dolphins have plenty of questions themselves, but they have been rehashed 10000 times already on this board.

I disagree. Eli has proved nothing so far. He might become a Pro-Bowler. He might become the next Tim Couch.

I personally am not sold on the Giants. Eli looks like he can be good, but he has to prove it in big games. Something he has not done yet. I really don't think their secondary is that good. Which will cause problems for late in games. I am still not sold on Shockey... I know a lot of UM fans here will bury me for that comment, but I just never really liked him. Think he is really good, just not as good as everyone else thinks. He is an average blocker with slightly above average speed.

Tiki... He always surprises me. I mean he is not a big guy, but still seems to handle the pounding very well. That being said, RB's don't typically have a slow decline it is usually very rapid, so you could make the arguement that with the cumulative beating he has taken over the years, he is about to fall apart.

Thus, Burger's point of the initial schedule is a make or break schedule. IF they do not start off well... It will really test the team's character if they can keep their composure.

In summary, they very well could do well, but they are facing an uphill battle.

I think he has shown he has a good deep ball, however he needs to improve his accuracy. He has a lot of improvements to make.
