This guy has got to go. I really believe that this will happen anyway. Even though such a radical decision today looks extreme it is not and here is my reasoning.

Brunnell could have been ours - snatched up from under us. Why? Gibbs came to FLA after not being in the league for more than a decade and outmaneuvered the Dolphins.

Head case Ricky left and maybe he would have done the same despicable move to any other coach in the league but the FACTS remain he did it to Dave. That makes Dave the coach who got clobbered.

We have lost so many games in the last 2 seasons due to POOR coaching. Penalties, ill-prepared game plans, psychological lapses on all sides of the ball...The Minnesota game late in the season 2 years ago - we went up there and got HAMMERED by a fired up Mike Tice team! The Texans game at the start of last year the team was FLAT! Such lapses are exclusively due to poor preparations in the emotional or psychological aspects of coaching. Bellicheck supposedly put signs around his locker room before the Colts game "Don't believe the hype". The Jets monday night debacle that became an instant sports classic. New England loss down in Miami last year. Mare had missed one in the dirt and when we got the ball down in there territory in overtime Wanny got conservative such that he gambled to let Mare kick again in the dirt - he missed - wanny FAILED on that gamble.

And yesterday - starting Fieldler mistake #1 - in fact I would have preferred a coach who insisted upon getting this guy off his roster - even if it was his guy the controversy it creates is enough to make a savvy coach can the dude...And do not tell me it was not his decision....He could of easily said it is either him or me...And not going for it on 4th and 1 at the Tennessee 49 yard line when down by at 14 or was it 17 at the start of the 4th quarter...

I'm with you 100% here. We've had plenty of time and different situations go on that have allowed us to judge just who is at fault here. Everything points back to DW. He's gotta go. Just not head coaching material.

I get the feeling that Speilman is building this team for Trestman to take over next year. Look at the WR's they will have next year. Chambers, Boston, Booker. Throw in Randy and a good PCing RB in Gordon and it looks like a Trestman team to me. I found it odd that Trestman couldn't find a better position in the offseason than 'assistant HC/QB coach'. I think he was brought in with the intent of taking over in 05.

Could be, and I've wondered whether we have one of those situations where everybody except the guy in question knows that things will be better if that guy is gone (DW). You gotta know that on some level the players have to be saying, "if we only had a good coach...."

If this mess continues I think you'll see Trestman THIS year. I think Huizenga can tolerate LOSSES, especially with the Ricky and Boston stuff, but I don't think he's gonna tolerate MESSINESS for too long. These guys looked totally unprepared yesterday. Same thing happened last year against Houston. Don't think Huizenga's not taking note.

Im sorry but I dont think Trestman is the answer.......
he failed as an offensive coordinator in the NFL..

If we are 0-5 and lose to the Pats in "The Game" then maybe Wanny will do a Steve Spurrier and turn the team over to Trestman. But Wanny is so stubborn they may have to wheel him out before he would quit.

Now where's the "It's not Daves fault that football isn't played today like it was in the 70's fans". and the "Jay Fiedler could be a superbowl QB fans"

Come on. I know you're out there.

And those DW should be taken pity on fans can come out too. I wan't somebody to argue with here.

Good Post

Huh? I'm not sure if he is HC material, but Trestman is a proven OC. His offense took the Raiders to the SB two years ago.

Failed? his offense went to the superbowl and offenses he coordinated have finished #1 more than once.........

DW should have been canned in the offseasom. It's not too late. His team was in shambles yesterday. Turnovers, penalties mental errors. That's on the Coach. Let him and Jay take the same flight out of town. Bye!

I think Trestman is a great person for the job. First of all, Wannstedt is not the reason the Defense is as good as it is. He is the mastermind behind this D, this D is a great D. The Offense would be Trestman's, it would be opened up, and it would be a lot better. Look, Wanny is to blame for not going for the 4 and 1 down by 14 in the fourth quarter. He may not be to blame for everything, but that call was on the HC.

If Trestman is so good why was he not named the O.C. when Norv went to Oakland or when Collier had to be replaced? I am not trying to be a trouble maker but I find it really curious that he had two chances to be the O.C. and he was over looked and now people are talking about him being the head coach? Somethng tells me there is some things that not everone is aware otherwise he would have gotten the chance long before now.

14 penalties in one game is inexcusable and is directly related to the coaching. Wanny simply can't coach, he's proven that in all the previous seasons. Think back at one game that Wanny has outcoached his counterpart. He must go!! But it won't be after one game.

This must be like the millionth fire wanny threads..

Don't count on Dave to be fired in the middle of the season. If anything, we need to find a capable replacement. You can't just hire anyone instead of Dave because you don't like his philosophy because you will end up in the same boat as your in right now.

Bengals are gonna get a field goal now to make it 14-10. I hope the bengals win! :D
