Firing Sherman was like firing your plumber when your house was built with crappy pipes. He couldn't stop the leaks, which is his job......but the problem goes much deeper.
 
I don't agree with you at all. It is the offensive coordinators job to take the team he's got and put them into positions to be as successful as possible. Mike Sherman had zero ability to make in game adjustments to what the defense was showing him. When you have a dynamic player like Mike Wallace you do whatever you have to to get the ball in his hands in space. Zero pick/crossing routes, quick bubble screens, zero creativity. Just look at how many different places Calvin Johnson lines up in one game. You move your best players around to put them in mismatch situations. Sherman sends wallace on go routes all day and thats it. We need some creative mind to come in a mix things up.
 
Like I said, if Sherman is the only one fired, he is the scapegoat in this. Don't get me wrong, he was awful and needed to go, but the problems are far deeper in the roots.
 
So having all but one of your linemen rated in the bottom 10% of the league is not an issue at all? Riiiiigggggght.
 
I would say having a line that can't run block or pass protect on a continuous basis might have an effect on what a OC can and can't call. Just an educated guess.
 
Was it Sherman's fault that the line couldn't block, and backs couldn't run, and quarterback couldn't lead the team to win?
 
Firing Sherman is like firing Dan Henning and keeping Henne as your QB.
 
Only one guy has been here in the last 5 years of .500 and below football, and it isn't Sherman or Tannehill....like a boss!

Let's trade Wallace for two 4th round pics and continue the Ireland way! His supporters will praise him for all of the draft pics we have!
