So with the stadium being 95% finished for this season, I'm flying down with the wife to attend my first ever Dolphins game in Miami. Will probably hit up one of the 4 games during that October home
stretch. I've never even really been out in the Miami area except for leaving for a cruise once. I'm looking for your guys recommendations on:

- Where to stay
- What to do (staying from Thursday thru Monday)
- Decent mid-priced seat recos in the new stadium
- Do they do stadium tours or any fan experience things?

Thanks guys! Looking forward to finally getting down there and contributing!

If you're looking to save money, it's best to get a hotel somewhere in Broward. Probably cheaper to fly into FLL rather than MIA too depending on where you're coming from.

They have lots of stuff on gamedays but I don't believe they do regular stadium tours. The prices of the new seats haven't been disclosed yet, but according to the "Sun Survey" the away team sideline and lower level away side seating will be the only portion impacted by sunlight during the game (clearly a cheeky design choice). Individual tickets will go on sale I believe around June or July.

When I went last year for my first trip we flew into FLL from new york. Stayed at the stadium hotel and literally walked to the game and back. About half way on our walk to the stadium there was a shuttle bus from the casino we took for free. Already looking into this year's trip

If you don't mind dropping the cash, Margaritaville Resort in Hollywood is a great place to stay with a lot going on in the area. There was live music every night and the taxi ride to/from the game aren't bad.

My wife and I are doing the exact same thing! We are staying down on Ocean Blvd as they wife wants two days on the beach so we figured we might as well go "all in" on the South Florida experience as I have no idea when we might make it back. I am a huge Canes fan so we are flying in the weekend of the Miami-FSU, and Fins-Titans games. I cant wait as I have been a huge fan since the mid 70's and have never made it down for a home game until this year. I booked our trip through Expedia and we got round trip, non-stop flights from Cinci to Miami, a rental car,and our staying at the Beach paradise hotel for $1600 (Thu-Mon). I thought the prices were reasonable for staying right at the beach.

We stayed at the Trump International Beach Resort in Sunny Isles last year and it was amazing. It's right on the beach and about a 15 minute ride to everywhere we wanted to go (stadium and south beach). We did catch a stadium tour and i believe it was only like $20, wasnt bad at all. Book a couple weeks or months in advance though, im not sure if they are regularly scheduled. I think they set up as many people as they can and if they have enough reserved then they do a tour. We set up a tour with a guy named Lucas, ill try to find his number if i can.

some nice places i stayed at are 1. Shula's Hotel and Golf resort in Miami Lakes.. great steak house and sports bar and all dolphin "stuff"..
2. Lowes Hotel in Miami Beach is beautiful but expensive..
3. in Ft Laud, the Pelican and the Atlantic Beach are also nice.

no matter where you stay, try to get to Shula's in miami lakes for dinner at least.
also, no matter where you stay, try to spend some time in miami beach just walking down the strip is an experience..

Thanks for the suggestions everyone!

Anyone know how ticket prices work for single game? Is there a chart somewhere I'm not seeing?

I stayed at Hollywood Beach. Margaritaville was being built at the time. I will stay there next time. Breakfast on the Broadwalk was awesome. I went early in October, but wish I would have gone later in the month because stone crab season starts Oct 15.

Ticket prices will drop in the coming weeks. Since the schedule was out only recently I believe season ticket holders get first crack. Stubhub and other sites will slowly start to get individual game tickets into the summer.

Take the advice of others and fly into FLL if possible . . . unless it's international. International out of Fort Lauderdale is an awful experience (hopefully improving with the airport expansion).

Hard Rock is a great place to stay at for a game. You are 20 minutes from everything. Sawgrass, Aventura Mall, the beach, the stadium . . . plus the night life and gambling is on property with plenty of shopping as well and a great pool.

Thanks. I'm doing the pre-sale on May 3rd (where they send you the link that morning) but wanted to get a sense for the costs before heading into that.

I'm actually flying thru Orlando to use up some Southwest point before they expire (from Newark). So was going to rent a car and drive down. Sounding like Margaritaville would be a blast or Hard Rock. Maybe doing Disney on the way back on Monday.

Southwest also flies into FLL, in fact it is one of their major hubs as Terminal 1 pretty much consists of Southwest flights.

If the game is on Sunday, you are asking a lot to do that, drive up to Orlando, do Disney the next day and then fly home.

I would consider doing a one way rental from Orlando to FLL. Arrive Thursday, do Disney Thursday/Friday, drive down Saturday morning to Fort Lauderdale/Hollywood and hit the beach or the water taxi or the malls, Sunday do the game and whatever you didn't get to on Saturday . . . then Monday fly out of FLL back to Newark.

Hmmm I'll look into it. Last I saw Newark flew thru Chicago to get to FLL

I was going to fly back on Tuesday and try for Disney on Monday due to crowds but you have a point about doing it earlier.
