I just got back from Miami; I spent the weekend down there with my son, he a Ravens fan and I a Dolphins fan. He had on his Purple Torrey Smith Jersey, while I had on my White Tannehill Jersey. I just wanted to provide a few observations from the game that I experienced. First let me tell everyone that I had a 17 year old with me and we did not stay in the parking lot for too long.
- We got to the stadium early because partly we didn’t know where we were going or how to get to the stadium, and I really wanted to fully experience the first time.
- We paid for parking at the cash lot in the SE Lot and walked to the stadium. As my son and I were walking to the stadium, we witnessed a male Dolphin fan and his gf which was a Ravens fan. They were struggling with their cooler, so I helped him out by helping him carrying it to meet up with the people he was tailgating with. Once there, he introduced me to everyone he was with, and they were all nice. For my gesture to help him carry the cooler, I drank ½ a beer with him. He told me to really experience the stadium, we should walk around for a while. So we did.
- I can definitely see why people are late in arriving to the game. The party atmosphere is like no other that I have experienced. The amount of tailgating that was going on was tremendous.
- The stadium extracurricular activities were great, my son and I had a great time. I was like a kid on Christmas morning. Taking pictures left and right.
- We decided to walk around the other parking lots for a minute. Actually we were following a couple of the Dolphins Cheerleaders on a golf cart. As we were walking around, one young kid booed my son because of his jersey, we were like, OK he is just having fun. Then as we were heading back to the stadium grounds, an adult started booing him and telling him to F&^%$k off, go back home. I thought that was pretty bad, but we figured it was the alcohol so ignored him and kept walking. Just thought that an adult wouldn’t really give a child a hard time, but to each their own.
- We went into the stadium as soon as the gates opened and walked fully around the stadium to take pictures and see every angle. I personally think that this stadium is a very nice stadium. Can’t wait to come back and see it again when the renovations are completed.
- During the game, we had some good folks around us, even some Ravens fans that flew in from Baltimore, we all had a good time, and got along well. There were a couple of scuffles about to break out during the game in our section, mainly at the end when the Dolphins fans were leaving. I thought the police and other fans did a good job in settling everyone down. I don’t understand why people were leaving, well then again never mind. The Dolphins laid a big Goose Egg in effort, so people were ticked off. Anyway back to my experience. I was very disappointed in how many seats were taking by Ravens Fans. You could really see them when the game was out of hand and the majority of the Dolphins Fans left, the Ravens fans all went down right behind the Ravens Bench.
- The game itself was exciting for me although the Dolphins lost. I flew down to watch the entire game, and I didn’t even think of leaving early. I owed it to my son to stay so he could enjoy his first experience down there as well.
- Leaving the game, we had a Baltimoron acting like a full, even my son said that he was an a$$. I told him that he is drunk, just don’t say anything. Well he didn’t take my advice to well and told him to act his age. The guy was a little ticked and started talking smack; thankfully others were with him to calm him down. I really didn’t want to have to step in to protect my son, but would have.
- All in all, it was a great experience, and I look forward to trying to make it down there again. Miami is a beautiful place, with beautiful women. We really enjoyed being able to go to the beach in December (that won’t happen in Maryland).
- I will be back there again.
