If you were Dan Henning for a day, what would be the very first offensive play you'd call on our first possession of the game tomorrow?

Personally, I would LOVE for the game to start exactly like this year's Buffalo game in Miami...with a deep pass to Ginn. There are several reasons I'd love to see this, but none more important than Chad Pennington completing a long bomb on the opening play just to stick it to everyone and their brother who are saying Penny can't throw the long ball.

Play action to the strong side with the primary as Ginn running a post route, with Fasano running a 10 yard curl. I think we're going to have to pressure the intermiediate and deep middle all day in order to have a shot of winning.

Flea flicker to Cobbs. The same play we ran in the Texans game.

They will be stacking us. Hit them early.

Crowd goes nuts!!!!!! :hi5:

Umm, he can't. I love just about everything else of the guy's game, but come on.

But to answer your question. I'd like to see a screen to ronnie brown. this guy was (is?) one of the best pass catching Rbs in the game and a beast in the open field. There's no way we can run the ball between the tackles, I say we get Ronnie and Ricky the ball in open field (even if it's short field) as much as possible
yeah it's not glamorous, but it's practical, which is what this game is all about

Might want to tell Seattle that. I'm sure they'd be relieved to hear that flea flicker didn't happen.

Like I want to turn this into a chad bashing session. :rolleyes2:
dude, you have to be the biggest homer to suggest that chad has a strong arm. The pass you mention was 40 yards pass. Nice, yeah, but a pass every NFL QB can make. What about last week's flea flicker? Maybe if Ginn isn't the first to adjust we lose that game. Maybe.

Thank you.

Pennington has a lot of 40+ yard completions this season (don't remember the exact number), but i know it is a lot more than Lord Favre.

Penny doesn't have the strongest arm (obviously) but it seems like when we need a play down the field, the dude just gets the job done every time.

As much as I would like to say let Ronnie throw the ball to Fasano from the Wildcat, I think a 9 route to Ginn or Fasano in the seam is a good start. Boss is right about the deep and intermediate threat being crucial to the offenses success.

I didn't mean to suggest Pennington has a rocket arm. Jeff George and Ryan LEaf had rockets on thier shoulder and, look where it got them. Chad's arm is strong enough. He has more long completeions that Farve did this year, and, more than many QBs. My point is simply, he CAN go long. It may not be his forte, but, he CAN go long.

Last week's flea flicker was underthrown. The point is; just like in the Seattle game, Ginn made a play. It's what WRs are supposed to do. Yes, Ginn made a great adjustment. Not only that but Ginn got away with OPI on his TD. Fasano made a great adjustment too. Any one of those guys doesn't make thier adjustment, and, maybe we lose that game. Maybe.

No, Chad's arm may not be much, but, it's good enough, and, he CAN go deep. He's proven it all year...I'm not sure how much more proof you need.

I don't want to argue about the details. So lets just say I agree totally with this part of your quote. And as for the complete package, I'd take it a step higher, his arm isn't just good enough, it's one of the best in the NFL. He just isn't going to hit a guy in stride down the sidelines for 50 yrds very often and you have to hold your breath sometimes at those longer 'out' routes to the sidelines, but other than that I think he's one of the top 5 QBs in the NFL. EVERY QB has deficiencies, it's just that some systems hide them better than others (ahem, Brady).

Personally don't think Ginn is going to be open much against Ravens defense. they are good. And have returned a few for tds. I have questioned Ginns toughness and going against Ravens defense I would really question it. personally I think shorter passes are going to be the thing with tight ends involved alot. along with Ricky and Ronnie coming out of backfield.

Yes, with a pass. The pass helps out our run game...
