If Fisher is the greatest coach on earth and Ross and Ireland are morons as some believe, why did he only consider the Rams and the Dolphins as possible destinations? There are only two possible reasons why:

1. Fisher is a moron like Ross and Ireland and wanted to coach for an organization run by morons

2. Fisher believes that Ross/Ireland are quality people and the Dolphins are a top franchise

For those of us who don't believe that Fisher is that great of a coach, he proves our point by the fact that only the Dolphins and the Rams pursued him. If he's so great, why didn't all of the other teams needing coaches try to get him???

It's been my theory all along that Ross really didn't want Fisher but had to pretend he did in order to placate a large part of the fan base who bought into the media hype surrounding Fisher. He HAD to do it or be tarred and feathered for not talking to him.

Fisher is a mid-level coach with a losing record and not even close to being a "young Don Shula". We dodged a bullet and I thank Mr. Ross for passing on this left-over turkey.

 There's a lot wrong with this. Starting right at the top.

Mr. Ross did the right thing by not giving away full control to a coach during negotiations.
The fact he gives control to Jeff Ireland, well, that's another matter altogether.

LOL! I was wondering what type of reaction this would get.:) If Ross/Ireland are morons, so is Fisher for even entertaining the thought of working for them.

I am sick and tired of all the whiners complaining about losing Fisher and blaming Ross/Ireland for it.

Fisher is average and Ross/Ireland have a whole lot more skin in this game than any of us fans. Let them do their work and make their choice and THEN we can applaud them or destroy them.

142 wins in 16 yrs and a conservative run 1st coach... yawn. Miami has been down that road before... several times.

This proves, to me, that Stephen Ross knows and more importantly avoids Einstein's definition of insanity.

I disagree with Ross avoiding so called insanity because last year he did exactly what the definition of insanity was by keeping Sparano and extending him. He expected different results and he kept doing the same thing

Yep, and Ross gave one of those coaches a contract extension last year instead of firing him like he should have.
