and the Dolphins are dealing with all of them.
All can be dealt with or minumized by the coaches be it Philbin or Sherman. They say it starts at the top.
1)A new left tackle and a new right tackle.
Although Martin played LT last season filling in for J.long he still didn't have a lot of experience playing LT,and Clabo at this point looks to be a good back up at best. Martin seems to be holding his own and youth is on his side. The Oline needed to be shaken up.
2)No running game
Two incomplete RB's,one can run better, the other can block better. As much as I like Lamar Miller and yes D.Thomas neither are being used enough to this point and used properly. They stay in to block so much,Ryan often ignores their wide open escapes from the back field. This is Sherman's fault IMO.Backs are underutilized.
3)A new Deep threat
Having Wallace aboard is great but until the line settles down the deep ball will struggle and the only answer I can come up with is why in some, not all Ryan is missing open receivers underneath the coverage and the backs roaming out of the back field.Ryan in some cases is trying too hard looking for that long ball when the underneath stuff is there.Every QB goes through it but Sherman and Philbin need to work more in practice on screens dump offs and pitch outs and control the negative long ball chatter with Ryan and let him take whats open.
4)Slow Head coaching / and Offensive coordinating
Philbin and Sherman need to coach a little more proactive rather than reactively .Waited a little too long to deal with Clabo problem or to shake up the oline.Seemed to be wishing it away.Sherman not coaching around our week points on our Oline.Sherman didn't help the situation as much or as quick as he should have
Sherman knows what he has as far as weapon goes, but isnt using the backs enough and is forcing the passing part of the west coast too heavily before the team is ready. Dont get me wrong I like about 75 percent of what Sherman calls, its that 25 percent that I hate worries me.Even if our Oline played better I still think some of what Sherman calls would be suspect and Philbin not keeping a close enough eye on how Sherman is using the offense.
5)A young QB who needs to learn.
The kid is never going to develop quick enough for some of you or get to the next level with out the help from the top. The coaches.
