An AFC Scout told the Philadelphia Daily News that he believes Joe Flacco's stock has risen into the first round this offseason.

"He threw the ball great," said the scout of Flacco's Pro Day workout. "He's done everything right in the offseason. Everything. Right now, there's a lot of teams that have him rated ahead of (Boston College QB Matt) Ryan."

On potential I agree. Big Body and cannon of an arm. Better legs. After that its all Ryan though

Well the thing with Flacco is he, in all likelihood, will take longer to adjust to the game cause of the speed....I mean has the guy ever seen a pass rush? etc.

Flacco might have the better arm etc.....but all along isn't it the intangibles that set Ryan apart? The guy performed against better competition...and got it done in crunch time.....

This scout is probably one of the guys that thought JaMarcus Russel was the best play in last years draft.... based on the strong arm pretty much alone....

Guess we will find out about both of them in maybe three years!

Perhaps the scout is also a friend of the Atlanta GM...trying to diminish Ryans value! I say if this is the guess we gotta hunt the guy down!!! WHO IS THE SOURCE?????? :foundout:

cant wait for Ryan's pro day on the 18th. hopefully there is video somewhere. hope he does really well so the falcons get a hard on for him

Thats one way to look at it...here's another...Flacco played with far less talent...and still played well. He didn't throw 19 ints...like Ryan did. As far as pass rush..Those weren't bee's chasing Flacco around during the games he played.:D

Yeah I agree with that. Just saying that from a physical point of view Flacco makes you drool. You know the thing about the first round is usually you draft for the physical freaks. Its probably changed a bit since the guaranteed money became so insane but I'm sure some scouts still go into the drafts looking at potential more than readiness. You're also probably right about the Russell comment. This is a guy that would have had Russell at the top or a Vince Young over a Cutler and Flacco is this year's Russell although from a smaller school

Hey if flacco is anything like falco from the replacements(movie), ill take him..:beer1:

Sometimes the level of competition can be over rated. Look at Ben Roethlisberger..

Flacco is a guy with some question marks. The fact that "Right now, there's a lot of teams that have him rated ahead of (Boston College QB Matt) Ryan" just shows that Ryan has a few questions marks as well. If the team believes in either of these guys I would be fine with them being selected with our 32nd pick (although it wouldn't be my preference), but we shouldn't touch either guy at #1.

EXACTLY! thank u!

I think that Henne has looked better then Ryan as well. Ryan seems a little over rated to me. Henne has the tools to be a great not just good qb but at times at Michigan he seemed to make stupid decisions but was a 4 year starter and has shown some great abilities

what exactly about henne makes you even think about putting great in the same paragraph with him?

other then a decent long ball, he has no pocket precense, no intangibles, lowsy footwork, isnt accurate, isnt smart, and hes a choker.
