It amazes me that any team would ever go into a season without a FB. You need to have all options available from a game plan perspective.

I really think Cox is going to be a fan favorite. He also played qb in high school so maybe he will be this generation's Crash Jensen.

Good maybe we won't run out of the shotgun on short yardage situations. That **** was annoying as hell.

He does block low whenever the opportunity presents itself. That's what is at issue. Often it appears he has multiple options but he picks the low route. Generally it's in the thigh area but a couple of times in conference games it went lower than that and resulted in torn knee ligaments against major SEC rivals.

We'll see how that plays out in the NFL. I never thought of him as a dirty player based on the first example against Alabama. But once it happened again against Tennessee I knew darn well the first one would be immediately referenced, and a reputation formed among certain fans, whether deserved or not.

Naturally you'll hear it most from fans of either Alabama or Tennessee. The high profile college football forums are generally dominated by SEC fans. That's why this situation regarding Cox became more well known than if he blocked the same way in a different conference. Auburn is often referred to as the Georgia Tech of the SEC, based on coaches supposedly encouraging the cut block.

This was because under Parcells and Ireland, early draft picks were spent on defense and/or o-line. They ignored offensive skill position players early, and the result was an offense that, although able to easily move between the 20s, were unable to score TDs when in the red zone.

Wow, I love this approach, fullbacks and blocking. I don't know how this going to work out, but I'll give it a chance just because I miss this kind of football.

Actually, this is the first time I've seen a ex Pat coach take as many coaches away from the Pats when taking a Head coaching job. This may be a little different. He's not just the only one with the Patriot way, He has a OC, DC, DB, OL, LB and TE coach all from the Pat's way. This may make it easier to install that culture. Plus he picked up an older coach, and OL adviser, and kept the DB coach and RB coach from the last staff. one created X and we know our RB's have been decent.

Top 10 teams in rushing percentage as far as offensive play calls in 2018:

    1) Seattle
    2) Tennessee
    3) Baltimore
    4) Barfalo
    5) New Orleans
    6) Chicago
    7) New England
    8) Houston
    9) LA Rams
    10) Dallas

Quick, who can tell me what 8 of those 10 teams had in common?

Yeah, but they would need, like, a 200 man roster. 100 of which would platoon in a one snap rotation of Finheaven mouth breathers.

Also, unless I am mistaken, Flores was in the organization longer than any of the coordinators that left, and has far broader experience, in several facets of the game.

amazes me that Kliff Kingsbury and Zac Taylor are HC's. I guess at some point the NFL will swing back to favoring FB's, ground attacks and QB's under center
