While the quarterback situation remained unresolved, the Dolphins juggled assorted other moves Wednesday, including re-signing defensive tackle Paul Soliai, adding cornerback Richard Marshall and playing host to visits with at least four free agents that very much interest them.

Besides hosting Marshall - who agreed to a three-year, $16 million deal - they also hosted offensive tackle Eric Winston, defensive end/outside linebacker Jamaal Westerman and offensive tackle/guard Artis Hicks was due in Wednesday night.

Meanwhile, Miami continued to hold off Packers free agent quarterback Matt Flynn while waiting for a decision from Peyton Manning, who visited with the Tennessee Titans on Wednesday. While network pundits view the Dolphins as serious underdogs for Manning, Miami does not want to proceed with Flynn until receiving a decision from Manning. ESPN reported Manning is still considering Denver, Arizona, Miami and Tennessee and might consider additional teams.

The Dolphins have expressed interest in Flynn, should they not land Manning, but have not made an offer. And the Dolphins’ competition for Flynn might be less than anticipated. The Cleveland Plainer Dealer reported that the Browns are not pursuing Flynn. At least one team that considered pursuing Flynn has concerns about his arm strength and limited body of work.

Seattle has invited Flynn to visit Thursday night and Friday and apparently has not yet made an offer. But they might feel more urgency now that Chad Henne has decided to sign with Jacksonville and canceled his visit with Seattle.

Manning's timetable remains uncertain, but the Cardinals need an answer before Friday's deadline on Kevin Kolb's $7 million bonus.

I was about to bring up the fact that Manning is really screwing us and especially the Cards over with his procrastinating. Cards will either have to pay Kolb or take the chance and cut him, while we may lose out on Flynn...

I really hope that Manning considers all 4 teams equal right now because he's being very selfish by not letting the underdog teams know that he'll most likely go with another team.

I don't think Manning is screwing the Dolphins. He isn't going to Miami. They're screwing themselves

This actually plays in Miami's favor. If the Cards decide to go ahead and sign Kolb, then that's one less team in the running for Manning. If they don't sign Kolb, that's another possible FA QB that we can look at. Things aren't as bad as they seem.
