It is very appropriate for the new GM to have their preferred HC. If the new guy isnāt interested in keeping McD (which will likely be the case) you fire him at the end of the season
A lot of hand wringing over this, but if you are going to not trust the GM you hire to make the right decisions then you already failed!

Itās too early to judge anything. McDaniel could be fired after the season. Now if heās brought back then I would feel that way too, but in either case, Florio is still

What if McD has been tied to Tua this entire time?
What if he had no choice but to design an offense to mask the shortcomings of his starting QB?
What if, with Grier out of the picture, the new GM pivots to an offense led by another QB?
What if McD installs a different offense tailored to a more typical starting QB?
I don't know if McD is a qualified HC in the NFL. He hasn't been able to make consistent improvements in his team's progress.
I have no idea if it's a lack of experience, a stubborn attitude, personnel issues, or a combination of all of these.
It will be interesting how this plays out.
