Clearly Ginn has big-play ability. He can catch the deep ball and is a fantastic returner. He has all the measurables and the kind of production you would want from any player.

However, can you take someone with the No. 9 overall pick who has as fickle an injury as a Lisfranc sprain? Ginn already admits he will not be ready for camp, which means the Dolphins will push him into a need position without training-camp experience.

Ginn nver said he wouldn't be ready for TC, in fact he never really answered the question. Just because Ginn didn't say "I will be at TC day one", doesn't mean he will miss the whole camp. Reese seems to be ignoring all the medical reports saying he will be fine for camp and the fact that both Mueller and Cameron said he will be ready.

Well, Ginn did say, at the time, if the season started the next day, he'd be able to play. So yeah, dude jumped the gun.

Good job drafting PacMan, Floyd. How'd that turn out for ya????

He has done a better job drafting over the years than anyone we have had, I kind of wish he was our GM right now instead of Mueller.

the best was hearing him criticize and laugh at tennessee on draft day and how poorly they did, no one had the heart to tell him that his tenure wasnt exactly great, he just takes credit for vince young to justify himself

Well I certainly hope he jumped the gun any way.

What an embarrassment it would be if we took a player maimed with a reoccuring foot injury throughout his career at the #9 overall spot.
I'm not saying that's what I think is in our future but if it does turn out that way we better gut that med staff of ours.

literally, not figuratively

Maybe Ginn admitted it to Reese?

Ginn did say he could play tomorrow. He also said he was going to beat Deion's time in the 40 before his workout, and that didn't go so well. You can't take a player's word that he's ready to play.

He's got the same injury as Kevin Jones. The question is either the severity if it was diagnosed correctly at OSU (which would mean they lied about it for over 3 months) or how much further damage was done because of the misdiagnosis. And there exists a small but very real possibility that Ginn is never going to play football again - Lisfranc can be that serious. There is also a chance that 4.37 is the fastest he is ever going to run from now on, which would make him just another below average wide receiver who runs a high 4.3.

Hopefully, he will recover fully, be ready for camp, and contribute as much as possible this year. But Cam and Randy took a huge risk, and Floyd is right in saying so.

It seems really strange to me that this Ted Ginn injury is getting little or no publicity. This could tell us a couple of things, one is that the injury isn't serious enough to merit public attention and Ginn will be ready for TC. The other possibility is that the injury is one that might linger for an unknown amount of time and the organization is doing everything it can to be very hush hush about it.
I'll say one thing, if Ginn's injury is one that lingers through training camp and causes him to struggle to be healthy this season, it truly was an awful pick. To pass on a potential franchise QB for an unpolished (albeit greatly talented) WR/returner is one thing. To pass on a potential franchise QB for an unpolished WR/ returner with a serious injury issue is completely out of the question... Especially given the specifics of our quarterback situation and overall offensive personell.

There is also a chance he runs faster then 4.37 AND even if he cant there is also a chance he becomes a far better then average wide receiver.

I don't see Ted Ginn becoming the next Yatil Green. I think the Phins are just going to be extra cautious in making sure he heals 100%. We don't need to really rush Ginn into the lineup. I think we have plenty of WR's. Hopefully Ginn will be in the lineup and get back to where he was when he had blazing speed. :)

oK TO SET THE RCORD STRAIGHT HERE FOR THE FIRST TIME POSTER ABOVE.... The injury and I will mispell it LizFranc there are 3 catagoreys of this. Kevin Jones had cat 3 last year while ginn's is a 1. Just wanted to make this clear for people that like to bash.
