Flying for interviews???

Hi Dol-Fans:
I may be a bit naive about all this, but is it the norm for the team owner to be flying around catching up to candidates? I always thought the candidates came to us. Maybe Wayne is trying to get a jump on things, or maybe this is the norm. Anyone with infinite wisdom please enlighten me!
 
NFL rules permit interviewing candidates who are currently under contract for a team still in the playoffs to be held ONLY in the city in which they coach. hence we had to go to Chi and SD. so while we are out and about, we stopped in Pitt and Costa Rica too.

This is true. But it was just reported that we are now in Minnesota interviewing Minn.'s Def Coordinator.

If the guys want the job and an interview he should be flying to us.

We arent exactly in the position to be making demands. If we won't go to the candidates and the other teams needing a coach will, then who do you think the coach is gonna sign with?
 
I don't care if they have to take a greyhound or hitchhike but they better head on to the west coast and talk to Singletary.

Not sure how normal it is, but I am quite impressed. I mean our owner rocks! Here is a guy who wants to get the best guy possible. We are competing with 3 other teams at the moment, possible 4 after the Giants loss (I don't count Oakland, because of Al Davis and no one wants to go there) so I applaud him for getting after it.
 
Our owner is very impressive, and im sure he is impressing the guys he is interviewing.
