Most dot-connecting observers expected quarterback Matt Flynn to sign with the Dolphins after it became clear Peyton Manning wouldn’t be taking his talents to South Beach. The fit was natural. New Fins coach Joe Philbin was Flynn’s offensive coordinator in Green Bay, and Miami had a quarterback need.
Flynn turned down the Dolphins in favor of Pete Carroll’s Seahawks. He explained why in an interview with 710 ESPN Seattle.
“I am close with Joe,” Flynn acknowledged. “I think a lot of him. I think he’s gonna do a great job in Miami. … When it came down to it, I just felt like [Seattle] was a better situation for me. I felt it’s a program that’s really on the rise, doing the right thing, is being led by the right type of people.”
Flynn didn’t say the Dolphins are being led by the wrong type of people, but we’ll let you read between the lines. It’s worth noting that Flynn has not been guaranteed a starting job in Seattle. He almost certainly would have been named the Dolphins’ Week One starter from the get-go.

dig to Miami and Ireland?

When he can't beat out Tarvaris Jackson we will see what he has to say.

I hear that Jeff Ireland guy is pretty cool.

...and they offered me more money because this will be my one and only chance to become rich."

Oh, but it wasn't about the money, you see..... How many times have you heard that? By the way, It took me a second to get, but your avatar is in the top 5 best! Freakin HILARIOUS!!!!

This is the only place I have a chance of not holding a clip board...gimme a fuggin break...2 suitors...cmon man

The Ireland hubballoo is a great cover for Flynn so he is rolling with it now.
Philbin is too classy to come out and say he didn't want him so that is that.

I think that if we looked at what every athlete said with a fine tooth comb, and had an agenda like Florio does at PFt, we could make it sound any way we want. This is just part of media spin. It is so horrible in Miami, but that's why JT came back? It is so horrible in Miami, but that's why Solai resigned, for a sweetheart deal btw. That's why Richard Marshall signed with us? It is just Florio adding gasoline to the fanatics fire.

I'm seriously considering censoring that site.

My favorite Florio moment of the year so far was his post earlier today that Hines Ward should be a sure fire Hall of Famer.

(Yes, he is a Steelers fan)
