I remember when we first start putting Lex out there to block . . . he would get blown past in special teams and on offense. The guy really has worked hard and I thought it was a no brainer to keep him in this type of offense. Polite wasn't the clear better blocker but Hilliard is the clear better offensive weapon and special teams player. Plus he is cheaper. The one advantage Lou had was the success in short yardage . . . other than that, this was an obvious decision.
Hilliard did fine blocking last year, and may be our best special teams player. He did great in the preseason finale. He made two blocks on the Larry Johnson TD run.
