Bengals | Contract talks non-existent for Kitna
Wed, 8 Feb 2006 09:46:08 -0800
<A href="http://www.kffl.com/link/162">Mark Curnutte, of the Cincinnati Enquirer, reports Cincinnati Bengals QB Jon Kitna said Tuesday, Feb. 7, that the team has not talked to him in the past month on a new contract. With the Bengals recently signing QB Doug Johnson to be the backup quarterback, Kitna will become an unrestricted free agent on March 3.

I still say Draft a Young Qb and Start Gus, till the Rookie is ready. Then there are some of you that still think like Wanny and want Saban to do just like him and keep bringing in those backups....Unlike WanStach, Nick Saban knows wassup and is going to Draft a QB this Season.....:fire:

I want us to get a qb in the draft, to start grooming. But a interesting idea is what about Donte. Kitna, I think would be a waste. trust me, Im from Washington, he really isn't that good.

i'd rather keep frerotte. he's had time to develop a chemistry with the offense and I doubt Kitna is an upgrade over him. He'd cost more, too. Draft a young guy and let Frerotte control things for '06.

You Guys are part of the Saban crew like me we have the idea of building up this franchise with youth, but you would be surprise how many Dolphin fans would want us to go with Back ups, and while Daunte is very tempting and not a bad idea. Schaub, Kitna, Garrard, Fiedler, Mcnown and the list goes on and on of who people would want under the QB.......I mean you talk to people out there and they just want some scrub playing QB.Alot of fin fans critize Wanny but alot of them still think like him.

I know i said fiedler and it is because the other day some guy actually told me he wouldnt mind us bringing Fiedler back and he aint know dummy when it comes to football.... I almost ate him alive....

Sadly, I agree

Uh, actually you have no idea what Saban plans on doing. It might be a high profile veteran FA, a trade, a "recovery" effort like Aaron Brooks, a high round drafted QB, a late round developmental QB, or any combination of these things.

re:

I think Gus is MIA's answer to a "no-name" QB. Come on, he fits the mold of Jake Delhomme, Matt Hasselbeck, Matt Schaub, Billy Volek, Trent Dilfer. He isn't a highly touted QB talent like The Mannings or Vick or Favre or anyone like that. But he's got a chemistry with the team going, and I'd be just as happy to see him hold up the Lombardi as I would be Cutler or anyone else.

Frerotte, Cutler, Brooks, or whoever, doesnt really matter if they are holding up the Lombardi trophy in a dolphins uniform to me:D:D:D

I do hope a young QB is in a MIA uniform wether it be McCown(who I want) or a draft pick. They may like Lemon, dont really know for sure. Come may though, we should have a pretty good idea of what Saban is doing in terms of a QB

If we get a veteran QB as a back-up I want it to be Patrick Ramsey, provided we don't get one in the draft.

Dilfer was a top 6 pick in the draft.

Yeah, Ramsey would be an upgrade.
