Considering that we only had 2 first downs in first half our defense looks good enough to keep us in any game this year. We did give up too much on ground but when your offense keeps you on the field thats bound to happen. The amazing thing about game is we actually outgained Tennesee on offense. Still not sure why we keep Zach thomas around, 10 solo tackles and three assists are just not gonna cut it.
As for the offense I think Minor seemed suprisingly good and if he had not got banged up would have had a fairly decent day. Averaged 5 a carry and had a 20 yard catch so do people still want to cut him in favor of Henry. At QB if anyone thinks AJ was equally dreadful as Fielder how do you explain 13 first downs to 2 that Fielder lead the team to.

The main resaon we outdid TENN in offensive yards is because of some garbage yards in the 4th through the air, but still our O was in position to put points on this board thorughout the game.

- Jay's INT in the end zone

- Mares missed FG

- Controversial McMichael catch would have put us at the 6 down only 7

- Of course AJ put up 7 against a softer TENN D, but still saved face

- Recovery of onside kick would have given us a last breath, unfortunately offsides

Our offensive yardage got a boost big time when AJ got in there, as someone pointed out early, he had 10+ first down to Jay's 2.

And our D gave up two big runs to Brown (50) and Smith (25). Take those away and Tennesse has under 200 yards of total O. But they did have the runs, so what can you really say :shakeno: . Also rememeber that we nearly stopped Tenn from putting up their first 7 if not for Pooles (penalty) on thir down. Woudlve made it just 3-0 at the half (although Tenn did miss a FG, so could have been 10-0 or 6-0 just as easily at the half).

So, I really dont see why this team can be reamed for being completely inept, there were just a lot of missed opportunities hindered by sloppy penalties and unfamiliarity.

CASE IN POINT: Miami hurt themselves in winning this game just as much as Tennesse made sure we lost the game. We were off sync and raw on O, what should we have expected? But stability will bring production.
