For All The Tannehill Fans.

Was it his 2-2 record or his 6 tds and 7 interceptions?
or being sacked 15 times in those 4 games starting

Set the bar low enough and everyones a super star
It's because it was Deberg's 16th season at that point. He retired at the end of the year.

Points per game is the only offensive metric that matters. 11th in 2014 and 17th in 2016.

Also, why do people compare tannehill to Marino? That's a losing battle every time
Points can also be scored by the defense. That credit shouldn't go to the offense.

Because many of us, myself included fell in love with this team because of Marino. Watching him shred defenses and make bombs to Duper and Clayton was the reason I loved the Dolphins.

That kind of football was exciting, even when we lost it didn't feel as bad because we knew next week Marino was gonna throw 4 TDs.
When the Dolphins lost to the Jets 51-45 in 1986 I was ready to put my fist through the wall.
The same when the Jets scored 14 in the 4th quarter in 1988 to beat us 38-34. I remember taking out my frustration on my GF, who soon afterwards dumped me! LOL

Well good for you. U can jump back on the bandwagon if we get another QB. We are always welcoming to fair weather fans. I think we need another qb also but there are 52 other players on the team. I feel your frustration but we had Chad frigging Hene as a qb at one point.
Chad Henne. OMG you had to remind me.

So after 6 years you determined he "finally turned the corner".

Then after ONE crapshow/4th Qtr OL collapse it changed your mind?

Got it.
Make that TWO consecutive crap shows. Are you forgetting the one up in Foxboro?

I gotta keep watching even thought it can be painful...…..

Sooo if we make the playoffs this year you won't watch???
I haven't thought about that, because I don't think the Dolphins have a chance to be a .500 team with this kid. in 2016 the Defense wasn't as good as this one but they made big plays when they needed it and the special teams was slightly better than this year's. And we all have to admit we had a very good running back (not the QB)that the offense leaned on. I submit to you that if Matt Moore had not played the last 5 games, the Dolphins would not have made the playoffs that year either.

Was curious to see how Tannehill's bad games compared to some of the elite QBs (Marino, P Manning, Brady and Brees) bad games.

QB1 7-34, 0-27, 7-34, 6-31, 7-39.
QB2 13-44, 6-41, 10-28, 14-33, 17-44.
QB3 0-31, 17-41, 0-21, 17-38, 14-34.
QB4 7-23, 10-41, 14-31, 14-31, 7-30.
QB5 10-29, 13-41, 14-41, 7-36, 6-38.

Bad games happen, it's how a team reacts over the remainder of the season that determines if these are the exception rather than the rule.

My original post was to showcase some of the QBs that the old timers here had to endure when they PLAYED FOR THE the dolphins...Not any other team

I remember that 1986 game well. I had seats right behind the visiting team's (Dolphins) sideline. That 3rd and 28 bomb from Marino to Clayton was a thing of beauty. I actually saw some of the Offensive Linemen shaking their heads in disbelief after that play. It was also the game where Hugh Green who we had just gotten in a trade 2 weeks earlier tore his ACL in the first half after getting 2 sacks. Don McNeal had a terrible game against Wesley Walker. In the end though, the referee screwed the Dolphins on the overtime fumble by Jets DL Ben Rudolph. The 1988 game got off to a good start when Rookie TE Ferrell Edmunds caught two long TDs in the first half but the defense fell apart. I still want to put my fist through the wall when I think DC Chuck Studley.

I thought played for Altanta the year they went to the Super Bowl as Chris Chandler's backup.

Yes...you're right. But that was after being retired for five years. He was 44 when he with the Falcons...39 with the Fins

There's a reason why they call it a "game". It's not to be taken too seriously.
The team still has plenty of positives, Gase and Tannehill are just not among them.

Yea but on the other hand...playing games you never win are not the definition of fun.
If Miami was my golf game Id be shooting 95's on the regular and would have quit the game long ago. Thank goodness for the good days when I shoot 70 something and enjoy it. Miami has not been in the 70's as a franchise in a long long time...By contrast NE lives there and dips into the 60's elation on occasion.

The NFL like life is not fair.

Are you serious? All you have to do is compare their best games and even their average games to see the lack of backbone in that argument.

Hint: Tannehill's wouldn't be close

How many trips to the playoffs have Brady Peyton Brees and Marino made it to?

None of them can say ZERO like your beloved Tannehill
