Tom brady 2001 - 63.9 comp %, 2843yds, 6.9ypa, 18td/12int, 86.5 rating WON A SUPERBOWL

Tom Brady 2003 - 60.2 comp%, 3620yds, 6.9ypa, 23/12, 85.9 rating WON A SUPERBOWL

Eli Manning 2007 - 56.1 comp%, 3336yds, 6.3ypa, 23/20, 73.9 rating WON A SUPERBOWL

now im not comparing tannehill to these guys today i mean obviously brady is better now, im just providing statistical evidence that this is a team sport and some of you guys make such a big deal out of stupid ****. This is a team sport, this isnt gof or tennis. You guys who blame tannehill for everything are clueless. I keep hearing were not good because of his ypa...ypa this ypa that. The PATRIOTS and GIANTS won superbowls those years, not just TOM and ELI.

David tyree, probably the giants 4th wide receiver at the time pulls in a helmet catch while wallace cant be bothered to catch anything that doeant hit him between the numbers.

The point im trying to make is Tannehill isnt the one holding us back from winning. Anyone wanting to get rid of him is a moron in my opinion. Anyone who watches other games can see the difference in time to throw. Brady literally stands back in the pocket for like 7 seconds doesnt even have to shuffle his feet, literally just stands there scanning the field.

I know theres alot of people who have an agenda on this site and will try to trash this post in any way possible, probably with stupid sarcastic bs but in reality these people dont have a clue how this game works and its evidently clear when they spew their agenda driven nonsense bs.

This team has some serious problems that need fixing but Tannehill isnt one of the problems. He has improved every year so far and is in a new offense. Hes never had a capable offensive line. Hes had to deal with colombo, clabo, martin, dallas thomas. Considering the circumstances i think tannehill has done pretty well. Of course he could be better but some of you guys on here forget that the qbs who are elite now werent elite from the get go. Brady wasnt lighting it up his first few years, neither did brees, rodgers sat behind favre for 4 years....im not saying tannehill will ever be elite but i think he will be better than eli manning and eli has 2 rings.

A lot of people think the next Dan Marino is just going to fall in our lap and are OK with trotting out the garbage at OL and DL every game. As long as we've got a QB that can throw deep, we're A-OK!

As I posted elsewhere, this is a PERFECT example of how stats can be made to lie.

Tannehill's 70% bragged about completion percentage is undoubtedly because he throws a LARGE number of dink & dunk passes of 5 - 15 yards.

Think I'm wrong?.....ask yourself what Rodgers, Brady's, P. Manning's completion percentages would be if they threw only mostly short dump offs or out routes all season long like Tannehill has been doing. Their ratings would be at 90% or higher.

And to your point that Tannehill is not "the one holding us back from winning" I would counter that no, he is not the ONE, but he is one of the ones on this team that is so hot & cold it makes you pull your hair out. One game he looks good and the next he craps the bed....he is too inconsistent and still makes too many bad decisions and throws at this point to not shoulder part of the blame - I keep thinking of that last 4th down play yesterday when he had 3 guys open across the field AT THE 1ST DOWN MARKER and he either doesn't see them or decides (again, badly) to throw a longer sideline pass that was way too high for the WR and would have been out of bounds. Any decent QB looks, sees & hits one of the open guys underneath for the 1st down. And it was even more jarring since he normally throws most of his passes to the shorter route guy and seeing him target someone deeper when he had short receiver open for the 1st was a real "WTF is he doing?!!" moment.

WE HAVE A WINNER! Thanks for a very well thought out and thoughtful post! Give Tannehill a good oline, a seam tight end and a big red zone target and he will have a 4000 yd/ 30+ TD season too.

Thank God for that 5th year option. I know I sure as **** wouldn't extend him right now.

Really? Your telling me brady didnt dink,n dunk???

2001- 32(20+)/6(40+)
2002- 37/3
2003- 44/8

Compared to tannehills firat 2 years

2012- 40/3
2013- 46/10

So explain to me how brady wasnt a dink n dunker? Thats all he did when he had welker too. Some of you guys are ridiculous, do you even watch other games? I swear you guys must only watch highlights.

Let's see how many long completions Rogers, Brady and Manning would make behind our $hitty o-line. It takes time to make those throws. Immobile QB's like Manning and Brady would be dead behind our o-line. Imagine how successful Tannehill would be with the weapons that each of those QB's have. Tannehill is a really tough kid who has put up with a constantly changing, hot mess of a team. Put him on one of the teams you mention and your words would sound pretty stupid. There's a lot wrong with the Miami Dolphins, but Ryan Tannehill is not one of them.

so that missed td to wallace when he was wide open and that sack he took on a 3rd and 5 from midfield in the 3rd quarter when 2 guys were wide open was who's fault? you people on this site are perfectly fine with the absolute mediocre garbage we've had to suffer through for the past 2 decades, thats why so many of you are in love with a mediocre qb who is pretty much bad in the 4th quarter, when it really counts. mr.tannehill is 22-23 as a starter.

Brady, Brady and Manning all have one thing that Tannehill does not have ..... THEY STRESS DEFENSES.

With Tannehill defenses only have to defend 1/3rd of the field.

Even if the next Marino fell in our lap that still wouldn't guarantee anything. Look at Brees and the Saints. Football is a team sport, having an elite QB gives you a better chance, sure, but there are other factors that can also determine your success/failure. We've been so hungry for a good QB since Dan retired that we just think that having another Marino will solve everything. But it's not that simple.

With Ryan Tannehill, I think it comes down to 2 different perspectives:

1) The fans that believe he has reached his ceiling and this is as good as he's gonna get.
2) The fans that believe he hasn't reached his ceiling yet and has plenty of room to improve.

So you have the people who want to move on from him after 2014, find someone else who can be our franchise QB, and you have the people that are willing to give Ryan more time to develop by surrounding him with a more talented roster in 2015.

I don't think either group is right or wrong, but the real question is, if you choose to move on from Ryan after this season, who do you pick to be our next QB?

i hate tom brady so much it hurts but what weapons does he have other than gronkowski? you gonna say with a straight face edelman, lafell or whoever else their wr's are, are very good players? furthermore if tom brady was our qb you think this offense would stink as much as it does?

Except when they play defenses that man handle their offensive line. Everybody in the world knows that if you dominate Brady's line, he's going to struggle. That's how the Giants beat him twice.

It's disgusting when I watch Brady in the pocket drinking coffee ready to throw a pass. All day to throw the ball. This team the last 15 years have always believed in a patchwork OL for some strange reason. Jamie Nails, Clabo, Dixon while good never healthy, James, Wade, etc

although ur statement is deff true, drew brees has been terrible this year.

dont look at his stats just, i have watched plenty of drew brees this season, and while the saints r 5-8 due to many things, such as a ****ty defense, drew brees is having arguably one of his worst seasons since joining the saints

he is deff a big part in why they r so bad this year.

Brady has been in the league for 14 years but he didnt carry the pats in his firat 3 seasons of starting. They had a good overall team at the time. And if brady was on our team behind this offensive line he wouldve hit the IR before the bye week.
