OK, the playoff dream. I am not endorsing the threads that seem to support the idea this is a good team, but for the dreamers, their scenario is not as far fetched as one would first believe. The far fetched part is the part we control....disclaimer...not my dream,,, just was looking at the idea....

Jax: loses to Giants, Miami, Indy, Pats and KC to finish 8-8.

Cincy loses to SD, NO, Baltimore, Indy, and Denver to finish 7-9.

KC loses to Miami,Denver,Baltimore, and SD to finish 9-7.

Jets lose to Pats, Bears, Vikings, and Dolphins to finish 8-8.

Dolphins must win Chiefs, Jags and Jets games...and only lose 1 out of Vikings, Lions, Pats, Bills, or Colts, to finish 9-7.

Seeds:
1)Colts
2)Ravens
3)Pats
4)Broncos
5)Chargers
6)Dolphins by virtue of head to head win versus Chiefs.

Any 3rd team in a tie breaker and the Fins are screwed......probably.

Hey...it's not MY dream!!!!!!!!

I remember last year near the end another member and I (I forget who) went over all the possible scenarios to make the playoffs, it was fun but lots of people didnt get it

Anyway I just want to win the rest of our games and see what happens

i would normally say hell no, but after what happened yesterday, anything is possible...not likely...but possible!

lol, winning out and i bet we clinch without any tiebrakers, but we deff need to take it one game at a time, it would be crazy to see anyone do that lol.

:D I was joking with some of my co-workers today about the possibility of Miami running the table and going 8-0 from here on out and getting a wildcard. I should say half joking. GO 'PHINS!

I agree with you. One game sure has changed the attitude around this MB. 'Even blind squirrels find acorns'.....In some ways I have understand Saban a little better regarding his "process" and not focusing on W/L's. This is still the same team with many of the same holes. I think the LJ to RG, Bell at S, Harrington at QB, and more time for Allen has helped. The C-Pepp decision hurt tremendously this year regardless of whether you support him long term or not. We still have big problems at LT, LG, CB, K and need more production from the passing game. Even in the Bears game the lack of disipline and the mistakes were still there,,, but having playmakers on Defense helped cover some of that up. On D we have some playmakers (we just need to make some plays)...on Offense I don't think IMHO that we have more than CC and RB CAPABLE of making plays. And of Course CC has not and RB had not until the Bears. Overall great to see some progress in the process but I for one am FAR FAR FAR from seriously giving consideration that this team is capable of being commpetitive week in and week out....just my opinion...

If we win out Sean Salisbury and all the other analysts will be eating crow for saying we are pathetic and that this win was luck. Not only that but Miami will be in the playoffs with all the momentum and be favorites.

I was saying the same thing to a friend today. :D
Unlikely but possible. One can only dream.

And if lightning strikes I will have Jessica Alba and Carmen Electra tonight.

Yeah I also remember going over those possibilties. That was pretty fun!

The way I see it, we need to put our selves in position to make a run. Right now, we can't be taken seriously as a playoff contender. How do we get there? It's simple. If we can get through November undefeated (very possible) we will be 5-6. We will have games comming up against Jacksonville and New England at home. We might be able to beat those teams and if we do, it sets up beautifully. A win in Buffalo and then vs. New York we would go into Indy where the game wouldn't even matter to them.

Hey, I know I'm really stretching here, but it gives a reason to be excited about the Dolphins. Thanks for beating the Bears guys, you gave us all some hope!

I agree with you to a point. I do think this is a good team when they are making plays. They really hadn't made any plays until yesterday. The part I agree with is that they still have weaknesses on this team. I think Nick can fix most of them this offseason. The lack of discipline was still evident this weekend, and is still disturbing. I'll chalk a lot of it up to playing with high emotions yesterday.....those guys were JACKED UP!!!!! I still want to proceed with caution at this time, taking it week by week. I do think this team played to it's potential on Sunday, which is a GOOD team.

Now that that is out of the way, I just want to say that I'm going love this week in here. It is soooooo nice to be able to post positive messages in here without being beat down by all the pessimists. I gotta say I'm liking it. I hope they keep winning so this MB stays happy....and oh yeah, because I LOVE WATCHING THE PHINS WIN!!!!! Go Phins!!!!!:dolphins:
