They might not be any better at all. I do recall that Turner looked pretty good at RT in game action, but who knows how that will translate to playing guard?

At any rate, I will agree that moving Jamil Douglas from L to R was dumb. If you're going to get subpar play out of your linemen, at least leave them at positions where they're comfortable and experienced.
 
For the love of god lets find some guards tha can actually play. I think Turner might have a future at RT, he is horrible at guard

this coaching staff needs to put that combo out there and see what happens. Game 1 of preseason, turner looked decent in pass pro

If the past can tell us anything is that the previous regime never gave our backups a chance and stuck with crappy players for too long.

they gave up on turner wayyyy to early. They need to shake it up and try every option possible. Stupid if they dont

If they make a change, then I have some faith that Cambell made sure the player that won the most one-on-one match ups/competitions will start. Douglas has not been competing at LG as far as I know. I would be shocked if started there. Hence the comment that Thomas is locked in at LG at the moment. No one coming close to winning that competition.

I've often wondered why coaches play guys outside of their natural position. I think it's dumb to take a guy that's been playing LG his whole life and tell him that now he has to do everything the opposite way at the RG spot. If you need a RG, get a RG!

I would take Eric Laakso, Jeff Toews, and Jeff Dellenbach as well.
This oline is terrible, and the ZBS is a gimmick scheme.

people forget Newman didn't play in the 2nd half of the SB against SF (broke his foot I think). When SF went to 8 DBs to slow Marino down, we tried to run - and our 5 couldn't block their 3. It was pathetic and a huge reason we didn't score in the 2nd half. We may not have won the game but Newman's absence was enormous. I don't recall who replaced him but probably was Dallas Thomas' grandpa.

the fact that dallas thomas is locked anywhere is bad for us...how is he even still in the league, so much for optimism
