... did A.J. Feeley improve on his pocket presence and reciever starring problem?
well that should have been def. pass inter.Mr. Mediocre Marty Booker failed to bring down one long pass when he had all the advantage in body positioning.
The fact still remains Feeley moved the ball and Frerotte didn't. I don't care if he is throwing 4 yard passes, if he throws three of them in a row that is a first down. If anything this is a positive. If you know football you would know that those little dump offs are not the primary reciever, they are check downs. Instead of trying to force the ball downfield like he did in the past, he is showing poise checking down and hitting the open reciever for positive yards. Throwing the ball downfield does not provide an opportunity for success if you aren't even coming close to completing your passes. The answer to the original question is yes Feeley did improve on his pocket presence. He was going against backups though so we don't know if that was the reason why.Awsi Dooger said:I can't believe the positive reviews for A.J. Feeley in tonight's game. Saban blew me away by praising Feeley in the postgame press briefing, mentioning the 16 for 20.
Yeah, for less than 100 yards. That performance certified beyond argument that Feeley would be a continuing disaster as starting QB. If I'm not mistaken his preseason numbers are below last year's 5.32 yards per attempt ineptitude, which should be next to impossible especially playing against second teamers and with a star talent like David Boston on your unit.
The signature series for Feeley ended the first half. Timeout with 25 seconds remaining from around the Pittsburgh 40. Feeley throws a 2 yard pass. Timeout with 19 seconds remaining. Another 2 yard pass. Then he wanders around with the clock running down, changing the play and the formation, oblivious to the situation and the half ends.
At least Frerotte provides an opportunity for success. He went downfield repeatedly tonight. Not accurate but when you challenge often it just takes a few and those successful strikes will come in time. Mr. Mediocre Marty Booker failed to bring down one long pass when he had all the advantage in body positioning. And McMichael dropped several in a performance that would have had other posters here calling for the gullotine if it had been Donald Lee.
lets see if we can graft marino's head and arm to him also :D .Nublar7 said:He had better stats, and didn't make many dumb decisions. However, he looks stiff in the pocket. He has Marino's legs.

He was nothing of the sort tonight. He was fairly athletic in avoiding the rush tonight and made good decisions. Those decisions may have lead to short passes, but they were not INTs and they moved the ball. Feeley is much more athletic than Frerotte though, so thats really not an argument against him.gimmemybullits said:Feeley is a bust period. He can't play quarterback in this league. Anywhere. He can't move, he makes bad decisions and he'll get every receiver hurt if they let him play. The faster he is gone the better for the Dolphins.

It wasn't his fault Mann fumbled the ball or that Minor dropped a pass in the bread basket. No he didn't score and I'm not saying he looked great out there, but rather that he made better decisions than we are used to seeing from him.Dudeman said:did Feeley score?
moving the ball means nothing if you dont even put the team in scoring position.
