I'm not a fan of shaming people for their opinions. OTOH, I don't know how anyone could be unhappy with the result of today's game.
Tannehill may have been picked twice, but he also had two TDs. He ended the day with a SEVENTY-FIVE POINT NINE completion percentage (22/29). And he played loose and confident for the first time since....ever. Clearly, Campbell cut loose all the restrictions on his franchise QB and on his OC, as Lazor called a great game, with plays we haven't seen in years except when we watch other teams.
Campbell also clearly had the effect of loosening up the rest of the team, and they responded by playing like a squad with nothing to lose, instead of one scared to make mistakes and playing not to lose.
I'm not certain that Campbell is the long-term answer at HC; no one is. The position of HC in the NFL is unlike the same position at any other level, including the elite CFB programs. An NFL HC is the on-field CEO; he MUST have strong executive ability and let his staff run their units, executing the HC's vision for the team. He's not a do-er, he's skilled at getting things done through others. Time will tell if Campbell has the intellect and the ability to do what's required.
I will say that he is exactly what this team need right now.
