Why did you become a Dolphin fan? I remember when I was 5, we just moved to Florida and I was watching highlights of the 74 Dolphins on TV. Since then, I have been a die-hard fan and each year it gets more intense for me. Especially since the internet and I can follow the team everyday and with Direct TV and the NFL Sunday ticket. My wife finally gave up trying to get me to stop watching football and just accepts. Can't wait to see them in San Diego this year.

Could have done something with my father making my mom bringing me home in a dolphins wuncy(or however its spelt), making me sit by him on Sundays to watch Marino, etc...

I'm not entirely sure how I chose the Dolphins, but I suspect it was about Dan Marino. My first memory of football is being pissed because the power went out and I missed most of the Super Bowl. Given what Joe Montana did in the time I missed, that may have been a good thing.

Most of my family rooted for the Cowboys or the Bengals, but I did have one uncle who was a Dolphins fan.

Most of my family are Cowboys and Eagles fans, but when I was (in the late 60's) I would always get excited when the Dolphins were on.Plus I loved Flipper!

I was born in Las Vegas, but my entire family is from South Florida. I was born into this life, and living in Vegas, 1pm games were over by the time I woke up! *lol*! I would have to be at a Dolphins bar at 10am to catch the game.

Now I live in South Florida, and I've been a season ticket holder for 4 years!

I saw Marino light up the Bills in Buffalo when I was a kid. I fell in love with the Dolphins then. I wasn't even a football fan I was all hockey till I saw Marino live.

I have 3 older brothers Eagles, Rams and Raiders fans. I was real little and I asked my mom who I should like and she told me she liked the uniforms so I just picked them.

I travelled to South Florida 1984 and my parents said i could by a hat, i picked a Dolphins and been a die hard fan ever since.

Half my family are redskins fans and the other half are cowboy fans. Everyone went over to my grandparents house and thewre would be a lot of shouting. When I was 5 the dreaded rivialry came was the late game, and a team in cool colors played and nobody yelled at them, I've been a fan ever since.

seen the christmas day game against KC in 1970, i was 7 and was a phin fan from then on

I was about 8 yrs old when the 72 team was making it's run to the perfect season. Griese, Csonka, Warfield, Kiick,Morris, Manny Fernandez, Jake Scott, Langer, Little, Bokamper, Nick Buonicotti (sp?), Yepremian and Vern Den Herder (I'm from Iowa).

It was a great ride until Wannstedt. I have not & will not waiver in my support for the Dolphins. I think Saban will coach the Dolphins back to the top of the AFC East, where we belong.

As a die-hard Hawkeye fan, I have one thing to ask of the rest of the Dolphin fan base: Please have patience with ROTH. Even though he hasn't shown anything, yet, Matt Roth is FAST and INTENSE even though he's a shade small. Remember, it is not the size of the dog in the fight, but the size of fight in the dog! I'm telling you this: Matt Roth will find a way to be a major contributor.

Grew up in Ohio, my dad was a devoted Browns fan. about when I was 9 or 10, I got tired of watching Ritigliano blow the games for the Browns, and started to look for another team. Miami was pretty good back then, and they were probably the team of choice on TV at the time.

Dont really remember how or why I got hooked, but I just started watching them.

I've lived most of my life in South Carolina. In the early seventies, the Panthers and the Titans did not exist and the Falcons were basically a semi-pro team... and obviously there was no cable tv to get you games out of region.

Therefore, while I was learning that I really liked football, the Dolphins were the regionally televised team and they were winning Super Bowls all over the place.

I had no chance.

I was about ten at the time of the playoff loss to the Raiders... Kenny Stabler remains a creature of pure evil to this day, in my opinion.

Ya, when JT is gone, and Roth can move to the RE.

how u ask

about 20 years ago (I was 15) I used to make dinners/register/etc in a pizza place & the pizza maker was a Dan Marino fan (because he went to college w/him) so he used to watch the dolphins, and I was just getting into football. So I guess I became a Marino Fan, as well as the fins. There's a lot of Fin Fans here in NY too.
