After last night, the Miami Dolphins are #2 in the entire NFL in Team Defense for Total Yards Allowed Per Game @ 278.2.

That's probably the highest ranking we've had this late in a season in years!

And we're only 10 yards per game off Baltimore for #1. That's 130 yards for the entire season, folks.

That's AWESOME!!!

Go 'Phins!!! :rawk:

Its a shame the offense wasn't more consistent earlier in the year, because much of the 1-6 start was due to the poor offense. Even if we started 3-4 or 2-5 we'd be in decent shape to get a wild card (of course assuming we'd win out which isn't a gimme). 1-6 is just too much to overcome. Hopefully next year we get off to a better start.

Its actually the reverse of Dolphins teams in the 90's and early 2000's. We were notorious for getting off to a fast start and then slumping in december. Now, its the opposite. It would be nice just to put one solid season together.

next year if our defense can play half of what they are doing this year and our offense can score at least 17 points or more a game that we will be one of the teams to beat. THE COLTS SUCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think a lot of people, though, have forgotten just how low Wanny had brought this team. I'm STILL smarting from that season ending loss against New England. The way Ricky was running it that year, we truly had a chance. And that game should have been, "In the bag." But Dumbsted... what can you say?!?

I wish everyone would remember that we're less than two years removed from 4-12... and all those years of poor drafting AND poor free agency moves... and PATHETIC coaching.

OFFENSE has been neglected for years on this team, and it simply cannot be corrected in such a short amount of time. But I think that if Dante can bounce back next year and with Joey showing that he's capable... and with o-line improvements... etc... next year we should see double-digit victories AND playoffs!!!

ASSUMING (just go with it for a moment) that we'd taken Brees...

...and... ASSUMING he were to be having just 75% of the success with us that he has been having in New Orleans...

WITH THIS DEFENSE...

...can you imagine???

We'd be the COMPLETE team. At least, about as complete as they get.

And to think that what BOTH sides said was keeping them from closing the deal was a few million dollars? [And the guaranteed money issue - which was a pretty big issue, admittedly.]

Still, one has to wonder... [sigh]

But forget all that!

Here's to kicking arse the rest of the year AND to coming back STRONG in '07!!!

Go 'Phins!!!

YEA!!!!!!

Go Fins, and Ups to Don Capers!

"The dolphins D-line Grandpa's will conquer all QB's, and the ZACK will ATTACK with his Clam CROWDER to back em' up!!!"

GO DDDDDD

This is true, but remember, it isnt just brees...you also have to consider the fact that his recievers dont drop passes...Our team is leading the league in passes dropped. Maybe if this stat wasnt so bad, we could have a couple more wins

Give me a break with this Brees Crap. Hmmm one of the best QBs to play the games statistically vs a man who had staples on his throwing arm with a virtually unfully healable injury. You wouldv'e chosen CP at the time as well if you had all the Information.

don't forget all the money he wanted too.

And I still don't understand all the critics saying our defense is too old. If old is number 2 in the NFL, sign me up for Social Security!

Hey, easy there partner! :D

I agree with your points. Also, I particularly love that Dante is actually from Florida. That might seem cheezy to some, but it's a big deal to me.

However, please re-read what I wrote and I think you will see that it was simply one of those "what if" exercises. I was just playing with "the thought of it," you know?

If you can't let your mind wander a little then that's too bad. It's not that big a deal.

Finally, for all other posters that get "touchy" about this kinda thing, please consider this:

Wondering where we would be if we'd gotten Brees does NOT necessarily mean that a person hates Dante or that he or she feels it was a mistake taking him over Brees. It's not like the two thoughts HAVE TO BE mutually exclusive. I'm already dumb enough as it is - don't limit my mental dexterity any further!

Sheesh! :goof:

Relax people.

Go 'Phins!!!
