yes, it was a great trade if you assume that culpepper will step in right away and be the player he once was. but, isn't that a rather large assumption? i certainly hope he does, and will be completely pumped when he's ready to play, but when will that be? gotta admit, i'm very wary - we shouldn't be thinking he's gonna jump in a throw for 4000 yards. and, what if he's not really ready to play (at a level approaching 100%) until midseason? who's the qb until then?

For one, the NFL network reported that he might be ready BEFORE September. And also, he had a leg injury it wasn't his throwing arm so its much easier to assume that he'd be more capable of resuming his prior status then Brees.
 
Major payback for the way they swindled that 4th rounder out of Spielman/Wannstedt for the Vernon Carey pick.
