For those who did not see the game

Sage and Brock needs to be started with the first team. We might as well see what we have with them.

Or maybe they were passing against DB's that will be in Europe or arena ball in 2 weeks time.

Let them play vs first string and we'll know for sure

As well as throwing to receivers and playing behind linemen that will likely be on practice squads or in NFL Europe in two weeks time.

I understand the start Sage stuff, but the start Berlin stuff is just insane. Even if he has skills, he'll be lost in the regular season when teams stop playing vanilla defense.

I think it is very likely AJ is going to get the start next week and will have to make a case that he is better than Frerotte or else we'll be on the Gus bus.

:shakeno: :shakeno: i heard enough of this argument at the end of last season.....the one thing we have to lose is the season i am done with career back ups trying to play 1st string

I wouldnt take snap away from who is likely going to start for us... just to see what someon has...we need the time to gel on O and throwing a 3rd and 4th QB in there will only make the learning curve grow.

Why are you guys trying to decide our qb now.
Sage and Brock are not in it so forget them, the key for me is that AJ is learning a new system and Gus has not been able to show he is that much better, if at all.
Look around theleague and see how other QBs are performing.
We need two more games and we'll know for sure.
The big question is how did the OL performed and can they do well consistently.

Whoever starts at QB will be the player LEAST LIKELY TO TURN THE BALL OVER. Unlike last season, we actually have a slew of talented RB's. I think everyone on this message board can agree that niether AJ or Gus are franchise qbs. The one who can go out there every week and be a "care-taker" will be the starter while we proceed to run the ball/throw short screens/throw to the tight end or short out routes ALL SEASON. This is unfortunate because we do have talent at WR and Scott Linehan is a master of designing successfull deep passing threats, however it is neccessary considering our O-line and our QB's.

So what have we learned? It doesnt matter who starts at QB, as long as they have a pulse. Stop trying to choose the lesser of two evils. In the end you'll still be left with crap.

:yeahthat:

The whole thing that gets me about AJ vs Gus vs Sage vs Brock is that AJ looks like he has no clue what he is doing and looks like he is terrified out there. When he gets hit, he is pure drama queen too.

AJ is the modern day Rick Mirer. At least Wanny knew that when he saw AJ play for the first time. Fiedler was better.

. . . .

Stop trying to choose the lesser of two evils.

You're sending mixed signals here. Choosing the QB least likely to turn the ball over is precisely choosing the lesser of two evils.

This is a bit off of the topic, but I find it really gratifying as one of the 1% of people who didn't want to hang Fiedler after every game win or lose to see fans lamenting that AJ is worse. The grass really is greener on the other side, right?
