We don't really get excited with "not bad" with a Number 2 pick. Hopefully he has a break out game soon.
funny that everyone just labels a #2 pick as a guy who MUST play well immediately. rookies just don't step up and play great immediately on a regular basis. look at some of the last #2 picks:
2004 - robert gallery: started out poorly, ended up decent, looking better this year
2003 - charles rogers: injured in first two years
2002 - julius peppers: played great first year, has gotten better ever since (except the super bowl year, where he was average, ironically enough)
2001 - leonard davis: not that great, but a solid starter on arizona's line
2000 - lavarr arrington: average rookie year, had a great sophomore and 3rd year, pretty much leveled off since then
1999 - donovan mcnabb: terrible rookie year, came back strong his 2nd year and hasn't looked back since
1998 - ryan leaf: actually started out pretty good, but then failed completely afterwards
not many #2 guys are immediate impact players. give them time and GIVE THEM A ****ING CHANCE, and they'll hopefully develop into someone worthy of the pick
