I was reading on profootballtalk.com that the texans will give carr the 8 mill and keep him so we can forget about him, that came from the owner. and we might as well forget about cullpepper he is going to be out 12 months he will miss 6 games next year. looking more and more like rivers!

Or Brees, or a draft pick.

Man that just flat out sucks...i really would've liked to see him here

I'd go for Brees before anyone else - too much time to develop a rook.

i would have loved to have carr...but ill take brees rivers or a draft pick.

If the Texans have the #1 pick, then Carr is gone, if they don't have the #1 pick, then Carr will stay.

Things are changing all the time... Now they may ask David to restructure before then... you know... "Hey why not restructure, and we can get you some Lineman that can actually block for you"

I wasn't to optamistic about landing Carr anyways.

Nah, they'll take Reggie Bush with that #1 pick if they have it.

I dont believe the texans are going to pay up, until they do I am seeing him as a FA

Also is there is a new coach who knows if that guy like david Carr?

to me it leaves the opportunity they wont match they are just saying that the owner right now doesnt see why he would not maybe in 3 months he will feel different

i dont know i think they only have till the last game to choose to keep carr or not so i think they will exersize that option.....but im sure they would be interseted in trading down maybe we can move up for leinart

If D' Brick has an excellent year and off-season before the draft the Texans could actually take him first. But I think the David Carr love affair is officially over and there will be pressure on management to bring in a new QB with the first pick if they land it.

Why would SD give up Brees? He's 26 and on his second season with a QB rating in the 90s. What other QB has been traded after two such years while still in his mid-20s? How much better could they think Rivers would be?

Guys, Rivers might not even be traded either. A while back I heard he has a low base salary next year, not making it a priority to move him.

Rivers is still unproven and i wouldn't give up that much for him. I think if the Chargers fail to make the playoffs this year that San Diego will not retain Brees, similar to what the Bengals did with Kitna in Cinncy. They started Palmer even with the good year Kitna had before but failure to make the playoffs. I would love to bring in Drew Brees but i have a feeling we wont go after anyone special at all and just end up with some other mediocre QB like Josh McCown or something.
