Just stay @ 1 and take Chris Long.
We will never regret that pick.
The kid has a motor / The game means something to the guy/ and he can just flat out play.

I think if we don't take this guy it will haunt us for years to come.

Agreed completely. He's a heck of a player and as safe as it gets.

I am ok with either Long. :)

his effort at the combine was amazing.. You can tell that football is his number 1. It will be a huge mistake if we dont take him

Put me down for that too. I want Chris to be our next leader. Anyone whom gets their Jersey retired from a school like UVA before their even through at the school you know he's great. On top of that he has been in Parcells system for 4 years and can play standing up or down. He is as good against the run as he is the pass and is a relentless beast. IMO their is no doubt what we should do with that pick.

It depends on what the Cowboys are willing to give if they are just going to give us, i agree i think we should stay at #1 and take Chris Long he is going to be an Amazing player in the nfl

we have so many holes to fill. not to mention the enormous amount of money it costs at number 1. if we can find a willing partner who is willing to give us value for that pick we have to part with it.

I still cant understand why everybody is still about Chris Long. i have always felt more comfortable with Jake Long. I feel the draft consensus shifts with time. I do think Chris Long is a stud, and I can see Parcells wanting to pick up a big time defender with our first pick. With that being said, I feel if the Dolphins are not trading down and about to submit their player... the safest bet is Jake Long.

His Combine #'s aren't much better then Matt Roth's ~~ i just looked them up.You would think Long would be faster as well, but only by 2/10 of a sec.

Long may have more football smarts but for the most past we have this guy on are team already. This kid is not his dad,the best he'll ever be is good.

we could trade down and still get him....if the falcons want to trade up for Ryan then we can get Long at 3 as I think the Rams will take Ellis or Dorsey.

Ozzy rules!!

how do you Know that he may turn out to be one of the Best DE/OLB in the history he may just be a Good DE/OLB and he may be the worst Player in NFL history when you see him play in college he looks like he will be one of the best to ever play he has a good coach in his dad he has been around football his entire life and he will leave everything he has on the Field

Anyone that say such crap about Chris has no buissness talking football. They obviously don't watch football and don't research. Chris is the top player on almost all the NFL networks experts lists. He has played in Bills system for 4 years and was a unanamous consensus ALL-AMERICAN. He can stand up or line up against the best tackles and they still have to shift a back to help. He is as good against the run as he is the pass. And some obvious Mich fan has the bright idea that he isn't the safest pick and tries to tell us that.:rolleyes2:

C. Long's numbers aren't much better than Roth's? That's funny. I think you need to look again...

Roth:
40yd 4.81, Vertical 32, Broad Jump 9'4, 20yd shuttle 4.36, 3 cone 7.65, Wonderlic 16

Long:
40yd 4.75, Vertical 34, Broad Jump 10'4, 20yd shuttle 4.21, 3 cone 7.02, Wonderlic will be higher than 16 for sure

I don't know if he'll do this or that.............I'm just telling you what i think after 30 years of playing and watching football.

The two games i watch him play this year he didn't stand out from any other guy on his team.I hope he is a great player, but i'm just not seeing it.

Only UM fan here are the canes.
I think we need the biggest beast on the o line, period
if beck is the plan...? right? at least for a year?
