Forget Ronnie Brown!!

Im gonna get bashed for this. But listen, my personal opinion is that NOBODY deserves to make millions playing football for 5-6 months. But thats just me, so we drafted a runningback at #2. Look what happened with Phillip Rivers, he is being paid all this money and isnt even playing!! Why on Earth should we pay 23 million dollars to some runningback who hasnt even SHOWED he can play well in the NFL yet, especially when we have Ricky Williams who is looking real good, Lamar Gordon, Sammy Morris, Heath Evans, Travis Minor. If Ronnie Brown wants to be ****y over 3 million dollars, then i say show him the door and save that 23 million dollars for someone else we may need.....like a deal to get a CB, C, QB. Right now runningback is not a need, we have 4 decent runners. Like i said, if Ronnie Brown wants to hold out cuz he thinks he deserves 23 million even tho he hasnt PLAYED yet, then show him the door! Yes i think Ronnie is good, but no rookie 24 year old who hasnt played yet, deserves soooooo much money. Im sick of these players holding out cuz they think they deserve so much, DOCTORS dont even make that much. If i was Miami, i would not go any farther than what they are offering...who cares if Ronnie Brown holds out...let him go to Tampa Bay and play with Cadillac again, or someone who is dumb enough to pay him so much. Anybody agree with me??? (or am i gonna be bashed:confused: )

The reason Rivers did not play was becuase Brees was a surprised in the way he played an usely Rookie QB play the 2nd year not the first... but some are exceptions...but the Chargers would of played Rivers if brees did not do that good of a job... i think we need Ronnie cause no one knows how well ricky will do with a year absent from the NFL
 
i think i want ronnie in camp not so much to see him play, but just so these threads stop

You have something against all the athletes who make millions? Why are you singling out Ronnie Brown?? He deserves his money just like all the the other #2 draft players got theirs. So why should he give up his chance to make what he is worth right now?
That would be very dumb on his part.
 
I agree, he hasn't proved anything to me yet. Trade him for a 1st and 2nd next year. :shakeno:

I think you're gonna get bashed. But not really by me. The Phins knew long before the draft that they were going to have to spend around 20 million for any player they picked here, so the fact that they may need to spend about 3 million more for him really shouldn't be a big issue. I say give him his money, try to get an extra year out of the contract and bring him into camp.
 
NFLPA is helping hold the line for Ronnie, you see the signing of these higher picks has an impact on some of the rest of the draft picks and future draft signee's. They advise Mr. Bown and his agent what to do in these situations. Pressure them to make agreement with NFL to quit giving all the money to unproven players and giving proven vet's the minimum.
 
you people really need to relax. it's not a big deal. he will sign soon. rb is not a hard position to pick up.

LaDainian Tomlinson held out and got only 5 carries in preseason then rushed for over 1,200 yards and 10 td's.

I definitely see a bashing coming. I don't know if I'd call it holding out, he's in contract negotiations, and he's going to get signed. RW is not the answer, what if he decides again to go travel & smoke pot. Let him come back this year, show case him & trade him for a nice pick next year. Brown's the future. Have you watched any films of him? Now I too believe they're all making way too much money. But it's part of signing and know one's going to give the milk away for free. If Smith would've got 10 million then Brown would need to get 9 mil & so on. Sooner or later no one will be able to buy tix or a beer at a game and then the Athletes can blame them selve for lack of attendance and Freezes in Bonuses, etc. Still we got a montser pick up in Brown and we've got to get him on the field.
 
I dont even think thats its ronnie being the greedy one here (not that anyone is) but this process has more to do with his agent and the fins org. than anything . I think if it were up to ronnie he would be in camp already and would sign for 3 mil less than what the person you should be mad at (france) is asking for. Give me a break he is a young guy new to this business he is just following instructions givin by the people around him . Just hold your horses ronnie will be on the field and he will be the beast the fins are paying him to be !!!!!!!!!
 
I agree and i got bashed BADLY for voicing my opinion, the guy hasn't played a down in the NFL and he wants 23 million.... THATS INSANE, i think the 1 and 2 for next year sounds pretty good, we wanted to trade down anyways, even though I REALLY REALLY want Ronnie to play for us, if hes too expensive... hes just too expensive. I hope we sign him though but not for 23 mill.
 
Ronnie is no lock to be a super star in the NFL. You younger guys don't remember Sammie Smith. Ronnie reminds me of him. Big fast back with good hands. A can't miss prospect. We drafted him when we could have had Emmitt. He could very well be a bust.
