Reports are being published that Tim Couch will be medically cleared to return to the NFL within 2 weeks. If you recall, he had surgery to repair his right shoulder earlier this year.

It's also been reported that as many as six NFL teams have inquired about him. No word as to whether Miami is one of those teams.

He says his arm feels great, and that he's throwing without pain for the first time in a long time.

Not saying that we'll definitely take a look at him, but it's worth a shot. After all, he's never played behind a real NFL o-line before.

We've got enough mediocrities hanging around as it is, I think.

If he came to Miami he still wouldn't be playing behind a real NFL o-line. Hopefully by the end of the season that will be different but for now we still have issues.

I'll tell you what I wouldn't be opposed to, if it played out this way.

Let's say Couch ends up signing a one-year deal with some desperate schlub of a franchise. Let's further suppose he lights it up on his return. I wouldn't be opposed to giving him a look as a FA next year.

It may be to late to consider Couch. He was never a superstar or really that great. Even if he could unseat Gus or AJ it would take him most of the season to learn system and get physically ready. I don't believe they would pick him up.

Im sure we will take a look...why not.

In Saban I trust on issues like these. If he decides to bring him in, fine. If he doesn't, it's no great loss.
