Ex-Miami Hurricanes stars aren’t the only accomplished South Florida football players frustrated by their former team.

Some distinguished former Miami Dolphins are irritated, too, though they are more measured and reserved in their assessment than some ex-Hurricanes have been.

Hall-of-Fame running back Larry Csonka criticized the Dolphins on Twitter when they stopped running the ball on their first drive against Green Bay on Sunday, then tweeted after the game: “These are tough times to be a Dolphin fan. Very frustrating. Shabby football.”

At last weekend’s John Offerdahl-hosted Gridiron Grill-off Food, Wine and Music Festival in Pompano Beach (benefiting Broward schools), former Pro Bowl receiver Mark Clayton said being a Dolphins fans “is very frustrating.”

Wishing they would pool money and buy this train-wreck of a franchise from the incompetence currently holding the keys.
Id personally kick in on a go fund me to help make it happen

Part of 'frustrating' in any organization is seeing employees (players) with talent being used ineffectively and/or being limited. That, to me, is Miami. No, I'm not saying they have top 5 team talent, but they 'had' talent prior to the decimation, yet, couldn't seem to play to potential. Even recently, playing a LOT of backups, they have opportunities, but can't seem to play as a partially oiled team.

We just can't get over the hump!
We should have beaten Cincy on the road, but gave it away. We had plenty of opportunities to win at Green Bay with the chances we had in the red zone early on.
While not near a TOP 5 in talent, we DO have enough talent to win, even with playing back-ups, but something screws up EVERYTIME we have a chance to change the game. Stupid penalties, turnovers, bad passes, bad play-calling decisions for the situation, missed tackles, players out of position, etc.
Instead of a well oiled machine, someone always throw a monkey wrench into the works, and I just can't help but put a LOT of the cause on the coaching staff.

I agree with just about everything you said probably except for GB.
Fans don't like hearing it but it absolutely true. It's hard to win FB games when 1/4 of your teams is out with injuries.
There are very few teams that can lose their starting QB, Linemen, skill players and still win consistently.

Agree. To me, it's not so much the talent or scheme (although it is to an extent), but how, at times, the D acts almost keystone-cops-like. It's like there's talent, but it's disorganized. Finman wants to blame mostly coaching. I agree with him. I'm torn. Gase has the team playing better with backups than I expected, but, at the same time, it's on coaching to make them look like they actually practice.

And who's fault is that... The HC. He hired his staff. If they can't utlize the talent that is all on him.

Really, Miami doesn't have an identity on both sides of the ball. That said, I would love to see what Gase could do in a year where the Dolphins beat the odds a bit in terms of injuries. Tannehill, Wilson, Sitton, Parker all injured on offense. That's a lot to overcome.

Csonka hit the nail on the head...when Gore was running like it was 2008 and we went away from him, I pounded my beer and expected to lose the game...

That's why I'm always harping on the play-calling.
The Seahawks didn't get away from the run game last night against GB. In fact, they closed out the game on the ground.
The Packer aren't the "Steel Curtain". There were a LOT of plays to be made on the ground against that team, and the coaches went away from it.
Gore should have had a MINIMUM of 20 carries in that game. He got only 3 in the second half when the game was within reach.
