I have to be honest when he came out with a statement last year that we offered him the job & he turned it down I thought that was odd. Especially since we Apparently we never officially offered him the position. I hate for anyone to lose their job & I'm sure he will get picked up by another team but IMO last years statement was unprofessional. I like what Hickey is doing not sure about the Tannebaum hire but will try to hold judgement.

not that i wanted hickey, or worse tannehbaum. but dawson saying no was not a loss

I have come to admit that every time a player or Coach or a GM turns us down, it is a good thing.

Why this guy was ever even considered for the position was beyond me. He was one of the few where I would of rather had Hickey than him.

I seriously doubt that Mr Ross actually made a formal offer to Dawson. I think that there was a lot of BS reporting at the time and we got a decent experienced player evaluator as GM. I am totally comfortable with Hickey's appointment. The alleged withdrawals of Caserio, Dawson and Farmer made headlines but maybe Ross knew precisely what he was doing.

It's easy to look back and say X candidate sucks or we should have hired X candidate but every situation is different. Two highly touted candidates around these parts were Gamble and Cesario, neither wanted the job. Fast forward to 2015 one looks like a genius and one nobody wanted so it's really hard to tell. One thing is for sure , situation matters as we can see . Tannehill saved some jobs with his play, looking at other situations you can see poor qb play sharpened the blade of the guillotine.

Because all the guys who's fav candidate didn't get the job, they fell right in with the media LIES about everyone turning us down, liberal media assasinasion over Ross and the racist finz not getting disbanded over the martin scandal!!

They thought, and still do think they were not punished enough by the legue and they still stir the pot with bull chips.

Lake as well as the others, WERE NOT offered the job! Not even billicheats flunky. That was all from media sources, mad at miami and Ku Klux Ross!!

Dennis hickey was the 4th interview, not a last gasp as the media sold it and right afterwards a team source said "hickey knocked it out of the park!" The job was his to lose.

He didn't lose. And so far, hickey has shown to be the right choice.

Keep swingin' off the media sack fellas!! Next thing ya know they will convince you philbin wont finish the year and Wallace's team mates want him gone!!

No doubt, QB play sure does play a big part into a head coach's future job security, well unless your John Fox.
